hop of those help? I have a MySQL database for a website am building, i have displayed contents of a table in the MySQL database on my page using the PHP code shown below. What i wanted to know was if there was a way to Merge rows of a column with the same value. , Store the result in an array.
code :
$arr = array();
while($row = mysql_fetch_row($result)) {
    if (empty($arr[$row[0]]) $arr[$row[0]] = array();
    $arr[$row[0]][] = $row[1];
}
foreach ($arr as $key => $subordinatearr) {
    echo '<tr>';
    echo '<td rowspan="', count($subordinatearr), '">', $key, '</td>';
    echo '<td>', $subordinatearr[0], '</td>';
    if (count($subordinatearr) > 1) {
        for ($i = 1; $i < count($subordinatearr); $i++) {
            echo '</tr><tr><td>', $subordinatearr[$i], '</td>';
        }
    }
    echo '</tr>';
}

then your page ends up with:
code :
<div id="txtHint">
    <td>blah</td>
    <td>blah</td>
    <td>blah</td>
</div>
<table border=1>
    <tr>
        <td>SKU</td>
        <td>Description</td>
        <td>SU</td>
        <td>Points</td>
        <td>Category</td>
        <td>Grouping</td>
    </tr>
    <tr id="txtHint">
            <td>
                <select name="users" onchange="showUser(this.value)">
                <OPTION VALUE=0>
                <?=$optionssku?>
                </SELECT>
            </td>
        <td colspan="5">SKU Details will be seen here</td>
    </tr>
while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result))
{
    echo "<td><select name='users' onchange='showUser(this.value)'><OPTION VALUE=0>";
    echo $optionssku; //Not sure where this variable comes from, so I'll leave getting it from wherever necessary to you
    echo "</SELECT></td>";
    echo "<td>" . $row['Description'] . "</td>";
    echo "<td>" . $row['SellingUnits'] . "</td>";
    echo "<td>" . $row['EOTTPoints'] . "</td>";
    echo "<td>" . $row['Category'] . "</td>";
    echo "<td>" . $row['Grouping'] . "</td>";
}

I hope this helps . I finaly found the answer to the problem myself. It wasn't a problem with the code above. The problem was that my jquery file was corrupt (but still valid code, so firebug didn't catch it). I suspect that a not so very thought through search-n-replace was the culprit

should help you out The problem here is that you've used two ideas that don't quite work together. This line: document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; is setting the content of the tag with id "txtHint" to what your php script returns. This means that when your php returns, for example:

it fixes the issue I am not so good in English, to express myself, so I show it with examples to you! , Try this jQuery code :
code :
$('.up').click(function() {
    tr = $('tr[id^="'+$(this).closest('tr').attr('id').slice(0, 3)+'"]')
    tr.insertBefore(tr.eq(0).prev().prev())
    return false;
})

$('.down').click(function() {
    tr = $('tr[id^="'+$(this).closest('tr').attr('id').slice(0, 3)+'"]')
    tr.insertAfter(tr.eq(1).next().next())
    return false;
})

will be helpful for those in need I just had to edit the mysql query for it to work. too simple.
i edited this (added group_concat() function with separator ' + '):
code :
$massivequery[]= "group_concat(case(date(start)) when '".$dt->format( "Y-m-d" )."' then hour(timediff(end,start)) end SEPARATOR ' + ') as '".$dt->format( "Y-m-d" )."'";
select schedule.identity,".implode(',',$massivequery)." from schedule join names on schedule.id_code=names.id_code where schedule.away is null and schedule.errand is null and date(schedule.start) between '".$view_start."' and '".$view_end."' group by schedule.identity
