I think the issue was by ths following , I have made a progressbar in android,Which is horizontal,i want to freeze it when any button click in my activity,I have tried as below,But progress still displays.my code is as below:I want to do something like one question loaded after another,and onClick of any button counter and progress state should be stop,but rite now my timer stop but progress still ran up..it not stops. , You can easily hold some boolean variable for that case:
code :
private boolean run = true;
if(run){
    pg_loading.setProgress(progressStatus);
}else{
    //stop, finish, do whatever you want
}
 public void onClick(View v) {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    run = false;
    Intent i;
    switch (v.getId()) {
    .
    .
    .
 }
new Thread(new Runnable() {
        public void run() {
            while (progressStatus < 100) {
                progressStatus += 1;
                // Update the progress bar and display the

                // current value in the text view
                handler.post(new Runnable() {
                    public void run() {
                        if(run){
                           pg_loading.setProgress(progressStatus);
                           pg_loading.setProgressDrawable(getResources()
                                .getDrawable(R.drawable.progress));
                        }
                    }
                });
                try {
                    // Sleep for 200 milliseconds.

                    // Just to display the progress slowly
                    Thread.sleep(62);

                } catch (InterruptedException e) {
                    e.printStackTrace();
                }
            }
        }
    }).start();
 @Override
        protected void onPostExecute(Void result) {
            // TODO Auto-generated method stub
            super.onPostExecute(result);
            if (pDialog.isShowing())
                pDialog.dismiss();

            try {
                countDownTimer.cancel();
                pg_loading.setProgress(0);
                progressStatus = 0;
                new Thread(new Runnable() {
                    public void run() {
                        while (progressStatus < 100) {
                            progressStatus += 1;
                            // Update the progress bar and display the

                            // current value in the text view
                            handler.post(new Runnable() {
                                public void run() {
                                        pg_loading.setProgress(progressStatus);
                                        pg_loading
                                                .setProgressDrawable(getResources()
                                                        .getDrawable(
                                                                R.drawable.progress));
                                }

This progressbar is visible on button click, and then a thread is also starting along with it. when the thread completes, I am trying to make invisible the progressBar. But it caught exception on excuting : , You should call it from UI thread:
code :
runOnUiThread(new Runnable() {
        public void run() {
             progressbar.setVisibility(View.GONE);
        }
    });

code :
 jQuery(window).load(function() {
    jQuery('.flexslider').flexslider({

          animation: "fade",
          easing: "jswing",
          controlNav: false,
          useCSS: false,
          pauseOnAction: false,
          pauseOnHover: true,
          smoothHeight: true,
          controlNav: false,
          directionNav: false,
          slideshowSpeed: 5000,
          animationSpeed: 1800,

          // animate caption
          after: function(slider) {
          jQuery('.slide-caption').show("slide", { direction: "down"}, 700);
          },

          before: function(slider) {
          jQuery('.slide-caption').hide("fade", 1800);
          },

          // image loader
          start: function(slider) {
          slider.removeClass('loading');
          }
          });

          jQuery('.slide-caption').show("slide", { direction: "down"}, 700);

          function run() {
          jQuery('.progress_bar').animate({'width': "300px"}, 5000, run).width(0);
          }
          run();

         jQuery('.flexslider').hover(
         function() {
         jQuery('.progress_bar').pause();
         });

         jQuery('.flexslider').mouseout(
         function() {
         jQuery('.progress_bar').animate({'width': "300px"}, 5000, run).width(0);
         });
         });

With these it helps I suggest you remember the start time and use it to calculate the elapsed time in each Tick. Then you can check if you are outside a break interval, i.e. if you are before the first break (elapsed.Minutes < activeMinutes) or if you are after the first break (elapsed.Minutes >= activeMinutes + pauseMinutes) and not in another break interval (elapsed.Minutes % (activeMinutes + pauseMinutes) < activeMinutes)).
The complete code would look something like this:
code :
private DateTime _startTime;
private int activeMinutes = 5;
private int pauseMinutes = 2;
private Timer _timer;

private void StartTimer()
{
    if(_timer != null)
    {
        // detach event handler from old timer before creating a new one
        _timer.Tick -= timer1_Tick;
    }
    _timer = new Timer();
    _timer.Interval = 12000;
    _timer.Tick += timer1_Tick;
    _timer.Start();
    _startTime = DateTime.Now;
}

private void timer1_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
    TimeSpan elapsed = DateTime.Now.Subtract( _startTime );
    if( elapsed.Minutes < activeMinutes ||
       (elapsed.Minutes >= activeMinutes + pauseMinutes &&
        elapsed.Minutes % (activeMinutes + pauseMinutes) < activeMinutes))
    {
        circularProgressBar1.Increment(1);
        circularProgressBar1.Text = circularProgressBar1.Value.ToString();
        circularProgressBar1.SuperscriptText = "%";
    }
}

progress = (ProgressBar) findViewById(R.id.progressBar);
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
progress = (ProgressBar) findViewById(R.id.progressBar);

around this issue The 2-parameter method has been added in API level 24.
For APIs below 24 use the Property Progress in Xamarin (they always try to replace the setters with properties).
