may help you . OK, so it looks like this whole issue stemmed from the fact that Wordpress doesn't understand $ as a jQuery variable since its default enqueued version of jQuery runs in no-conflict mode.
Replacing all the '$' signs with 'jQuery' solves the problem, or you can wrap it in a function and map it to $ like this which is what I did - http://digwp.com/2011/09/using-instead-of-jquery-in-wordpress/

it helps some times When you are hitting the end to load more, your load code is just re-loading the same 5 entries. You need to check what you have already loaded and validate if it is the end or not to stop adding entries.

I wish did fix the issue. I believe it is a comb of both your pagination (not the one you are printing) and the infinite scroll JavaScript you are invoking. It works on the homepage because the ajax request you are performing is requesting like so:
code :
http://www.example.com/resources/books/page/3/?test=1
http://www.example.com/books/many-molts-muchos/page/2/?test=1
return "page/" + index + "/?test=1";
return "<?php echo get_site_url(); ?>/resources/books/page/" + index + "/?test=1";
return "<?php echo get_site_url(); ?>resources/books/page/" + index;

hope this fix your issue We can do this by using the repeater template and the almComplete callback function.
Step 1: Repeater Template
code :
<article class="item" data-item="<?php echo $alm_item; ?>" data-total="<?php echo $alm_found_posts; ?>">
<h3><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h3>
<p>Currently viewing item #<?php echo $alm_item; ?> of <?php echo $alm_found_posts; ?></p>
window.almComplete = function(alm){
var container = document.querySelectorAll(“.alm-reveal”);
container = container[container.length-1]
var item = container.querySelector(‘.tf-item-for-t-post:last-child’);
var last = item.dataset.item;
var total = item.dataset.total;
document.getElementById(“alm-search-results-text”).innerHTML = “Showing ” + last + ” of ” + total + ” results”;

};
