Any of those help I made a batch file with one command in it so that i dont have to remember the code. thought it would be simple however the code that it prints out when running it is not the code that is in the file. heres the only line in the file , you need double % when used in batch:
code :
for /f "tokens=*" %%f in ('dir /a:-D /s /b') do move "%%f"

wish helps you The documentation is clear. However, you're passing the block to collect. And since you're not passing it to open, you are responsible for closing the file.
To have file auto-closed, try this:
code :
File.open(file,"r") do |f|
  f.collect # or whatever
end

this one helps. In your ruby example you could just stuff them into an array, sort the array and print them out.
With egrep you could pipe the results to sort:
code :
egrep -o "\|\s([A-Z0-9][A-Za-z0-9: ]+)\s+\|" sort_movie_list.feature | sort

should help you out Using urllib.request.url2pathname() on the path component will strip the beginning slash for Windows.
code :
>>> import urllib
>>> import urllib.request
>>> path = urllib.parse.urlparse('file:///C:/Program%20Files/Python36/LICENSE.txt').path
>>> path
'/C:/Program%20Files/Python36/LICENSE.txt'
>>> urllib.request.url2pathname(path)
'C:\\Program Files\\Python36\\LICENSE.txt'
>>> parse_result = urllib.parse.urlparse('file://some-host/Shared Travel Photos/20170312_112803.jpg')
>>> parse_result
ParseResult(scheme='file', netloc='some-host', path='/Shared Travel Photos/20170312_112803.jpg', params='', query='', fragment='')
>>> urllib.request.url2pathname(r'\\' + parse_result.netloc + parse_result.path)
'\\\\some-host\\Shared Travel Photos\\20170312_112803.jpg'
