The usage of NSNotificationCenter in the relationship of parent and children

The usage of NSNotificationCenter in the relationship of parent and children

around this issue OK so lets say that you register for notifications in the viewDidLoad method (I'm assuming you're using UIViewController) in Class A; and deregistering for notifications in the viewWillDisappear: method. Then as long as you call super in your subclass' (Class B) equivalent methods then your class will receive these notifications.
In order to respond to these notifications you create a method, defined in the .h file of the superclass (Class A) called didEnterForeground and you set this as the selector to be called when your superclass receives the notification. All you have to do is implement didEnterForeground in your subclass (Class B) in order to respond to notifications.

this one helps. This is a strong composition, where the component couldn't be built without a reference to the composite.
That means you need to initialized them with that composite (i.e. pass self to the Bar instance). This is the way to do it, as you need a reference to the owner. You can possibly set it after, for instance bar.foo = foo, but it will implement a looser link, an aggregation.
code :
class Bar # Class of the component
  attr_reader :foo

  # the component must be initialized/built
  # with a ref to the composite foo
  def initialize(name, foo)
    @name = name
    @foo = foo
   end
end

class Foo # Class of the composite
  attr_reader :children

  def initialize(names = %w(john ben maudy))
    @children = names.map do |n|
      Bar.new(n, self) # pass self to build the component
    end
  end
end

bar = Foo.new.children.first
bar.foo

I hope this helps . To make MVC map your post data correctly, you have to change your view code to:
code :
...
@Html.HiddenFor(model => model.ID);
@Html.EditorFor(model => model.ReportDate);

@for (var i; i < Model.LineItems.Count; i++)
{
    @html.HiddenFor(e => Model.LineItems[i].ID);
    @html.EditorFor(e => Model.LineItems[i].ItemDescription);
}
...
...
[HttpPost]
public ActionResult Edit(Report raport)
{
    if (ModelState.IsValid)
    {
        //do save stuff
    }
}
...

will be helpful for those in need This is my take on the question (fiddle):
code :
var data = getData();

var group = getTree(data);

console.log(group);

function getTree(flat) {
    return _.reduce(flat, function (treeObj, item, prop, flatTree) {
        var children = _.map(item.children, function (childId) {
            return _.set(flatTree[childId], 'isCategory', true);
        }).concat(_.map(item.items, function(item) {
            return _.set(item, 'isCategory', false);
        }));

        item.children = !!children.length ? children : null;

        delete item.items;

        item.parent === null && (treeObj[prop] = item);

        return treeObj;
    }, {});
}

it fixes the issue You really shouldn't ever want to do this via sql; it's not what sql is intended to accomplish. That kind of result should be handled in client code, at the presentation level. I'm guessing you just don't understand how to consume the resultset properly yet. What do you plan to do with the result set that you wouldn't want the authorname repeated for each row?
