Hope that helps I have two fields which stores month and day separately. I have a requirement where I need to check the month and day fields(in the format MM/DD) should lie between two dates. For example, if I have month and day fields stored as (02/11), then if the user passes from and to dates as 02/11/2012(MM/DD/YYYY) to 02/28/2014, then I need get that record(02/11). , FOR SQL SERVER 2012
code :
   IF (select  CONCAT(month,'/',day))
FROM tbl) between LEFT(date1,5) and LEFT(date2,5)
BEGIN
PRINT CONCAT(month,'/',day)
END

I wish this help you This is the DataTable.Select syntax for DateTimes:
code :
foundRows = _blackOutTable.Select("FromDate >= #2012-07-13#")
DataTable tblFiltered;
var invCulture=System.Globalization.CultureInfo.InvariantCulture;
var filteredRows = _blackOutTable.AsEnumerable()
    .Where(r => DateTime.Parse(r.Field<String>("FromDate"), invCulture) >= blackOutFromDate
             && DateTime.Parse(r.Field<String>("ToDate"),   invCulture) <= blackOutToDate);

if (filteredRows.Any())
{
    tblFiltered = filteredRows.CopyToDataTable();
}

I think the issue was by ths following , Try to_char function, e.g. this way:
code :
select
    case
        when to_char(date_column, 'mm') <= 6 then '1st'
        when to_char(date_column, 'mm') >= 7 then '2nd'
    end as half_of_the_year
from your_table
select
    case
        when to_char(sysdate, 'mm') <= 6 then '1st'
        when to_char(sysdate, 'mm') >= 7 then '2nd'
    end as half_of_the_year
from dual
HALF_OF_THE_YEAR
2nd

fixed the issue. Will look into that further It's simply to do with Joda-time library. compareTime method will looks like:
code :
   /**
    * @param time1 dateFrom in millis. E.g. returned by System.currentTimeMillis()
    * @param time2 dateTo in millis
    * @param mHour hours in your time zone
    * @param mMinute minutes in your time zone
    */
   public static boolean compareTime(long time1, long time2, int mHour, int mMinute)
   {
      final LocalTime timeFrom = new LocalTime(time1);
      final LocalTime timeTo = new LocalTime(time2);
      final LocalTime time = new LocalTime(mHour, mMinute);
      final boolean isSameDay = timeFrom.isBefore(timeTo); // it is correct, because (time2 - time1 < 24 hours)
      return isSameDay ? (time.isAfter(timeFrom) && time.isBefore(timeTo))
         :  (time.isAfter(timeFrom) || time.isBefore(timeTo));
   }

fixed the issue. Will look into that further this how you can achieve the dates between two dates. hope this may help you, as said by @cfs on this page, you can disable previous days by this script:
code :
$(function() {
    $( "#datepicker,#datepicker1" ).datepicker({
        minDate:new Date()
    });
});
var start = $("#from").datepicker("getDate"),
    end = $("#to").datepicker("getDate"),
    currentDate = new Date(start.getTime()),
    between = []
;

while (currentDate <= end) {
    between.push(new Date(currentDate));
    currentDate.setDate(currentDate.getDate() + 1);
}
