I think the issue was by ths following , I am having a bit of a problem with my code and that it always throws NullPointerException: , The answer is to do this:
code :
    InputStream is =  getContext().getClass().getResourceAsStream("/whatever.properties");

around this issue To my knowledge the file has to be right in the folder where the 'this' class resides, i.e. not in WEB-INF/classes but nested even deeper (unless you write in a default package):
code :
net/domain/pkg1/MyClass.java
net/domain/pkg1/abc.txt
getResourceAsStream returning null

hope this fix your issue Either put the file directly in the src folder, not the package folder. Or use getResourceAsStream("com/myProject/myImage.png").

wish help you to fix your issue Created a dir called resources under /src/main/ and placed AwsCredentials.properties there and used
code :
properties.load( PropertyLoader.class.getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream( "AwsCredentials.properties" ) );
properties.load( this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("AwsCredentials.properties" ) );
Why is getResourceAsStream returning null?

To fix this issue It is all about relative vs absolute packages when calling getResourceAsStream(), you looking for something relative to whatever package Content is at as the root.
there are no "directories" on the classpath, especially inside .jar files, only packages

wish of those help getResourceAsStream() isn't terribly useful in android. It refers to files embedded in a JAR or classpath container, not android Resources. You probably want to use the android assets feature instead. You can simply place the asset file ("data.txt") under your project's assets/ directory.
To get an InputStream for the asset, you can use the AssetsManager, like this (error handling is omitted for clarity:
code :
// get the assets manager from your activity or `Context`
final AssetsManager am = getAssets();
final InputStream   in = am.open("data.txt");
// do stuff with the input stream
