it helps some times As far as I know, there is no way to create nested routes via the standard rails3 scaffolding, however, I did a quick search and came up with this gem: https://github.com/amatsuda/nested_scaffold
For reference, I found it via this similar question: Nested scaffold generator for Rails 3?

I hope this helps you . Here is an example to check http://embed.plnkr.co/uVMlkk/preview , There is a trick how to handle scenarios:
code :
.state('root.page2', {
    url: '/page2',
    views: {
      'content@root': {
        templateUrl: './tpl.page2.html',
        controller: 'Page2Controller'
      },
      '@root.page2': {
        template: '<div></div>',
        controller: 'RedirectorController'
      }
    }
})
.controller('RedirectorController', ['$scope', '$state',
   function($scope, $state) {
      $state.go('root.page2.tab', { tabId: $scope.activeTabId });
}])

fixed the issue. Will look into that further One missing line on Serialization has_many :inner_comments was the culprit as it was lost between merging two local branches.
If you have a similar problem, check the developer tools for the network transactions. If one of your XHR requests is missing the expected return payload (the inner_comments for each comment request in my case), then the problem is on your backend...
