Does that help It should, since git pull does a git fetch and a git merge.
But it will do so only from git 1.9.0+, as I mentioned in "Does “git fetch --tags” include “git fetch”?".

Can we set a Git default to fetch all tags during a remote pull?

To fix the issue you can do You should be able to accomplish this by adding a refspec for tags to your local config. Concretely:
code :
[remote "upstream"]
    url = <redacted>
    fetch = +refs/heads/*:refs/remotes/upstream/*
    fetch = +refs/tags/*:refs/tags/*

With these it helps The solution I found in Eclipse (Luna in my case) is:
Right click the project in the Project Explorer Go to Team | Remote | Configure Fetch from Upstream... In the Configure Fetch window, click button Advanced... In the Annotated tags fetching strategy, change from option "Automatically follow tags if we fetch the thing they point at" to option "Always fetch tags, even if we do not have the thing it points at" Click button Finish.
How can you configure git to automatically fetch the tags on every pull?

seems to work fine Fetching tags has a different effect than fetching commits (git fetch), as explained in "Does “git fetch --tags” include “git fetch”?".
The latter will update branch heads, and will actually fetch tags reachable from those updated branches.

this one helps. You can use this command to set the upstream of your current branch $ git branch --set-upstream-to=origin/master
This way your setting the upstream branch to master by default when pulling and pushing without actually using a push or pull command.
