hop of those help? Your intermediate certificate for DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA seems to have expired, see f.e. https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=www.macu.com
Likely your browser did not complain about it, because it had a newer, valid version of that intermediate cert installed already (and used that to prove the identity of the signing institution), whereas on your node instance it was still the old one (and it presented that to the counterpart).

it helps some times I'm using Mikeal's request (https://github.com/mikeal/request) to make an https request to a server. However, I keep getting an authorization error of CERT_HAS_EXPIRED. , Add this at the top of your file:
code :
process.env.NODE_TLS_REJECT_UNAUTHORIZED = '0';
Node.js Error: Cannot find module 'request'

Node.js Error: Cannot find module 'request'

I hope this helps you . Something looks wrong in your directory structure. I would nuke the node_modules directory and redo the npm command.
It's always a good idea to maintain a package.json file and see the dependencies written out
code :
cd getFoo
npm init # answer the qestions
npm install --save request
node app.js

I hope this helps . Since this, works perfectly fine, I'll say that the problem is in your proxy config.
code :
request.get({
    uri: 'http://localhost:8000/names'
}, function(err, res, body){

});
npm config set proxy http://usr:pwd@host:port

This might help you Apparently you were not the only one with this problem. The issue is here:
code :
event.sessionAttributes['userInfo'] = {
                    "first_name": body['first_name'],
                    "last_name": body['last_name'],
                    "gender": body['gender'],
                    "id": body['id']
                };
