I wish did fix the issue. The common design pattern is clonning and compiling your project in the Docker image build process. In addition, you can configure your image as a Docker Automated Build, which is defined in Docker documentation as:

To fix the issue you can do It is possible - OpenShift does the same thing to run the build container that performs Docker and source builds. On the container security context (in your pod definition) set priviliged to true and define your volume mount of /var/run/docker.sock.
Note that you'll need to have the authority to launch priviliged containers (regular users aren't allowed to set priv or host mount), which can be done by adding your project to the "priviliged" security context constraint (https://docs.openshift.org/latest/admin_guide/manage_scc.html). In 1.0.7 there is a policy command that makes it easier oc policy add-scc-to-service-account

hop of those help? I forgot that I asked this question here. But, for those of you who also encounter this issue.
The solution was discovered by @aaronlehmann on GitHub Issue #1090. This issue was (possibly still is) affecting AWS instances, but also appears to affect some residential connections as well.

I hope this helps you . We have a tool which needs to clone several Git repositories for aggregating documentation data. We want to put that tool in a Docker container for easily running it locally and with Jenkins, and enabling reproducibility. , You can use something like:
code :
echo "git-user:x:$(id -u):$(id -g):Git User:/tmp:/bin/bash" > /tmp/fake_passwd # See below why to use this
docker run \
   -u $(id -u):$(id -g) \
   -w /tmp \
   -v $HOME/.ssh:/path/to/.ssh \
   -v /tmp/fake_passwd:/etc/passwd \
   --entrypoint sh \
   -it \
   alpine/git

  # commands in the container:
  $ export GIT_SSH_COMMAND='ssh -i /path/to/.ssh/id_rsa -o "StrictHostKeyChecking=no"'
$ git clone [path to git repo]
Cloning into 'myrepo'...
No user exists for uid 1000
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.
git-user:x:1000:1000:Git User:/tmp:/bin/bash

Hope this helps 1. Using volumes
If your sole point is to persist your data you need to use Volumes.
