The costs of streams and closures in Java 8

The costs of streams and closures in Java 8

To fix the issue you can do The cost you see here is not associated with the "closures" at all but with the cost of Stream initialization.
Let's take your three sample codes:
code :
for (int i = 0; i < 10_000_000; i++) {
    Set<String> set = Collections.emptySet();
    set.stream().forEach(s -> System.out.println(s));
}
for (int i = 0; i < 10_000_000; i++) {
    Set<String> set = Collections.emptySet();
    for (String s : set) {
        System.out.println(s);
    }
}
set.forEach(System.out::println);

it helps some times 1) Can Method Handles be used for Function Types?
Scala targets JDK 5 and 6 which don't have method handles, so it hasn't tried to deal with that issue yet.
code :
[implicit] def toComparator[A](f : (A, A) => Int) = new Comparator[A] {
    def compare(x : A, y : A) = f(x, y)
}
classOf[A => B] //or, equivalently,
classOf[Function1[A,B]]
classOf[ _ => _ ] // or
classOf[Function1[ _,_ ]]

seems to work fine Default akka.actor.default-dispatcher parameter is Java's ForkJoinPool. It's initialized via call to ThreadPoolConfig.scaledPoolSize. Thus it defaults to starting pool of size (number of processors * 3) and max = parallelism-max (64).

I think the issue was by ths following , In Groovy, closures are first class citizens of type groovy.lang.Closure, whereas lambdas in Java 8 are actual instances of the default method interface they represent.
This means you need to use the as keyword in Groovy (as you've shown), but alternatively, in Java you need to specify an interface, so in Groovy, you could do:
java.io.EOFException using ksoap2 lib libcore.io.Streams.readAsciiLine(Streams.java:203)

it fixes the issue This is a bug, I am getting the same error while using ksoap2-android-assembly-3.3.0-jar-with-dependencies.jar. It looks like this problem has been prevailing since v3.1.1 (some users faced this in earlier releases too). A user with gave a workaround to tackle this problem. According to him,
