hop of those help? I searched internet and read manuals for hours but I can't figure out this one: , Streams are not copyable. You have to pass the stream by reference:
code :
//                                         v-- here
void processInput(std::basic_istream<char> &inputStream) {
void processInput(std::istream &inputStream) {

getline using strings in C++ returning error: No instance of overloaded function getline matches the argument list

getline using strings in C++ returning error: No instance of overloaded function getline matches the argument list

it should still fix some issue I'm trying to parse a document using getline to take an entire line and place it in the string variable named 'line.' The problem is I'm getting an error that says: "No instance of overloaded function getline matches the argument list." Can anyone help me solve this problem? , Your escape sequence is backward - try replacing
code :
/n
\n
Why is getline() in C++ not working? (no matching function for call to 'getline(std::ofstream&, std::string&)'

I hope this helps . std::getline is designed for use with input stream classes (std::basic_istream) so you should be using the std::ifstream class:
code :
std::ifstream file("test.txt");
while ( std::getline(file, line) )
{
    std::cout << line << std::endl;
}
pass string as argument in fuction from getline

wish help you to fix your issue I am trying to read a file line by line and then put in variables each word of the line , See if this helps:
code :
void handleline(string & line)
{
    //you have just the one line to work on in this implementation
}

...

while (!myfile.eof()) {
    getline(myfile, line1[a], '\n');

    handleline(line1[a]);

    a++; // you forgot to increment a in your code
}
What happens when I pass 0 as the second parameter of getline?

fixed the issue. Will look into that further No, it's not correct. From the man page, (emphasis mine)
Why is sequence [getLine, getLine, getLine] not evaluated lazily?

To fix this issue getContents is lazy, getLine isn't. Lazy IO isn't a feature of Haskell per se, it's a feature of some particular IO actions.
code :
do a
   b
do
    input <- do
       input <- concat ( map (fmap (:[])) [getLine, getLine, getLine] )
       return input
    mapM_ print input
do
  input <- do
    x <- getLine
    y <- getLine
    z <- getLine
    return [x,y,z]
  mapM_ print input
sequence [] = return []
sequence (a:as) = do
  x <- a
  fmap (x:) $ sequence as
