wish helps you It turns out that my PATH wasn't updating correctly. I don't know if this is actually what was causing the issue or not, but simply restarting Sublime Text has fixed it.

This might help you Ooof, that was silly. In ~/.config folder with Sublime settings, sublime-text-2 had root root owner, have no idea why. Had to change owner to myself with chown, and that's all.

Does that help None of the above answers worked for me as they appeared to be missing a crucial 'step' to the process (step 2 below). This is how I got it to install for me in Windows using Sublime Text 3:
Install Package Control (Tools > Install Package Control...) Open Package Control (Ctrl+Shift+P) and type 'Package Control: Install Package' and then press Enter. Sublime will attempt to load any custom repositories then offer a list of packages available. At this point, I was able to successfully search for 'indent xml' and have it appear in the list and install by pressing Enter with it selected.

help you fix your problem Calling type() doesn't by default display any output to the screen. It takes an input and returns the type of that input. To actually see what type() is returning, you need to display that output.
