it fixes the issue The problem is indeed caused by the ItemsControl which makes the Button and its resources in a different scope.
A simple fix would be, instead of using Storyboard.TargetName, use Storyboard.Target binding instead, something like this -
code :

Share : facebook icon twitter icon

With these it helps probably in the style of some control where you use a control named "Bd". look in triggers, setters and storyboards!
Invalid Cast Exception for System.Windows.Controls.Canvas to System.Windows.Controls.TextBox

Invalid Cast Exception for System.Windows.Controls.Canvas to System.Windows.Controls.TextBox

I hope this helps you . sender is the canvas object not the textbox. You're trying to cast the canvas as a textbox which isn't possible, hence the exception. Why not attach a common event handler to the textbox at runtime?
code :
myTextBox.KeyDown += new KeyEventHandler(TextBox_KeyDown);

private void TextBox_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e)
    //the sender will be a TextBox here, but perform a check to avoid null exception
    TextBox tb = sender as TextBox;
    if(tb != null)
       //your textbox code

will be helpful for those in need With help from @Siderite Zackwehdex
I had to add reference to WindowsFormsIntegration. Go to project and expand References -> Add Reference -> Assemblies -> Framework -> tick WindowsFormsIntegration.
code :
public class WithoutCloseButton : Window
            private const int GWL_STYLE = -16;
            private const int WS_SYSMENU = 0x80000;

            [DllImport("user32.dll", SetLastError = true)]
            private static extern int GetWindowLong(IntPtr hWnd, int nIndex);
            private static extern int SetWindowLong(IntPtr hWnd, int nIndex, int dwNewLong);

            public void HideButtons()
                var hwnd = new WindowInteropHelper(this).Handle;
                SetWindowLong(hwnd, GWL_STYLE, GetWindowLong(hwnd, GWL_STYLE) & ~WS_SYSMENU);
 private void OpenBrowser(PaymentViewModel viewModel, Uri uri)
    viewModel.BrowserWindow = new WithoutCloseButton();
    viewModel.BrowserWindow.Closed += BrowserWindow_Closed;
    var browser = new MyWebBrowser();
    var stackPanel = new StackPanel { Orientation = System.Windows.Controls.Orientation.Vertical };
    var formsHost = new WindowsFormsHost {Child = browser};
    viewModel.BrowserWindow.Content = stackPanel;
//....    then
 browser.DocumentCompleted += delegate(object obj, WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventArgs e)
    if (e.Url.ToString() == "about:blank")

    if (e.Url.ToString().ToLower().Contains("accepted"))
        ViewModel.AuthCode = this.GetAuthToken();
        ViewModel.updateUiWhenDoneWithPayment_RunWorkerCompleted(new object(), null);
        ViewModel.BrowserWindow = null;
    if (e.Url.ToString().ToLower().Contains("payment/confirmation"))

like below fixes the issue Because I can know the KeyTime only during runtime, and can't do binding there, I build the storyboard in code. It works fine. , Try to register the name with the style using the RegisterName method
code :
Style beginStoryStyle = new Style(typeof(Grid));
beginStoryStyle.RegisterName(BEGIN_MAIN_NAME, begineStory);

like below fixes the issue You're trying to use Silverlight controls in a WinRT app. That won't work. New UI controls are a part of Windows.UI.Xaml.Controls.
Find the list of controls which are in that namespace here. Also, please read more about the two different XAML models available in Windows Phone 8.1.
