will be helpful for those in need you can't return data from an asynchronous function such as $.get, you have to use callbacks. What you get back is deferred or promise objects which you can group like this:
code :
var call1 = $.get(fileKevin...
var call2 = $.get(fileHeidi...

$.when( call1, call2 ).done(function ( txtKevin, txtHeidi ) {
function getWeight() {

    var fileKevin = "https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/mytextfile1.txt";
    var fileHeidi = "https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/mytextfile1.txt";

    $.when(
        $.get(fileKevin),
        $.get(fileHeidi)
    ).done(function (txtKevin, txtHeidi) {
        var weightKevin = parseWeight(txtKevin),
            weightHeidi = parseWeight(txtHeidi);
        console.log(weightKevin, weightHeidi);
        // here you will call any function that has to use those values like:
        // doSomething(weightKevin, weightHeidi);
    });

    function parseWeight(txt) {
        var lines = txt.split("\n");

        var total = parseInt(lines.length)
        var first = parseInt(0)
        var last = parseInt(total-1)
        var prev = parseInt(total-2)

        var NuVaegt =  (splitWeight(lines[last],1))
        var StartVaegt = splitWeight(lines[first],1);
        var ForrigeVaegt = splitWeight(lines[prev],1)
        var Tabt = decimal((NuVaegt-StartVaegt),1)
        var Sidst = decimal((NuVaegt-ForrigeVaegt),1)
        return Tabt;
    }

};

I hope this helps you . You can accomplish this without do using multiple tidyverse packages, namely tidyr, dplyr, purrr and broom.
The reason behind this is that do will eventually be replaced by purrr
code :
library(Hmisc)
library(tidyverse)

mtcars %>%
  group_by(vs, am) %>%
  nest(mpg) %>%
  mutate(stats = map(data, ~spread(tidy(smean.cl.normal(.x$mpg)), names, x)),
         n = map(data, nrow)) %>%
  unnest(stats, n) %>%
  select(-data)

wish helps you Putting async before a function transforms it into a function that returns a Promise. data method must return an object and not a Promise.
code :
async function myFunction () { [code] }
function myFunction () {
    return Promise(function (resolve, reject) {
        try {
            resolve((function () { [code] })());
        } catch (error) {
            reject(error);
        }
    });
}

I wish this helpful for you If you want a fluid interface like that, your methods (other than __init__) need to return self.
code :
class predictionsGrader():

    def __init__(self, predictions, target):
        self.correct = []
        self.predictions = predictions
        self.target = target

    def merge_on(self, row):
        self.row = row
        self.md = pd.merge(self.predictions, self.target, on=[self.row])
        return self

    def compare(self, predicted_target, confirmed_target):
        self.predicted_target = predicted_target or "predicted_target"
        self.confirmed_target = confirmed_target or "confirmed_target"
        return self

    def grade(self):
        for x in range(len(self.md[self.predicted_target])):
            if (self.md[self.predicted_target][x] == self.md[self.confirmed_target][x]):
                self.correct.append("right")
            else:
                self.correct.append("wrong")
        return self.correct

wish help you to fix your issue I am using a conditional rendering to render different elements in my react header based on url or if a user is logged in. In my default return I want to render two buttons side by side instead only the second button appears. How do I fix this? , You can return an array or a fragment containing both.
Array:
code :
return [
    menuItem('/signin', SIGNIN, false),
    menuItem('/signup', SIGNUP, true)
];
return (
    <React.Fragment>
        {menuItem('/signin', SIGNIN, false)}
        {menuItem('/signup', SIGNUP, true)}
    </React.Fragment>
);
return (
    <>
        {menuItem('/signin', SIGNIN, false)}
        {menuItem('/signup', SIGNUP, true)}
    </>
);

it should still fix some issue I don't know the details of your enumerateTags function, but since it has a completion handler you should add one to your function, and call it from the completion handler from the enumerateTags function.
code :
       func MyFunction(completion: @escaping (Bool) -> Void) {
        tagger.enumerateTags(in: tagger.string!.startIndex..<tagger.string!.endIndex, unit: .paragraph, scheme: .nameTypeOrLexicalClass) { (tagResult, tokenRange) -> Bool in
            if let tag = tagResult, tag == "nil" {
                print("Found")
                completion(true)
            }
            return true
        }
        // I would like it If we have already printed found in the function above then don't continue on to this function below
        tagger.enumerateTags(in: tagger.string!.startIndex..<tagger.string!.endIndex, unit: .word, scheme: .nameTypeOrLexicalClass) { (tagResult, tokenRange) -> Bool in
            if tagResult != nil {
                print("Found")
                completion(true)
            }
            return true
        }
      }
