this one helps. Instead of debugging your code, I propose you a working snippet that does what you need :
code :
public void toArray() {
    String[] split = this.text.split("\n");
    this.data = new double[split.length][];
    for (int i=0 ; i<data.length ; i++) {
        String[] cols = split[i].split("\\s+");
        data[i] = new double[cols.length];
        for (int j=0 ; j<cols.length ; j++)
            data[i][j] = Double.parseDouble(cols[j]);
    }
}

Hope that helps I am trying to make something that allows me to run list a lot of words and then returns a sorted array when I press Enter without having listed a string. Right now, the prompt lets me type two lines, then returns the array with only the last word added and then loops back and starts again, instead of continuously adding words to the array. , Maybe you're trying to do something like this?
code :
def stuffsky
  other_one = []
  puts "What would you like to add to the message? type a word please, then press Enter"

  while true

    word = gets.chomp
    break if word == ""

    other_one.push(word)

    puts "other_one: #{ other_one.join(' ') }"
  end

  other_one
end

puts "stuffsky: #{ stuffsky }"
foo
other_one: foo
bar
other_one: foo bar
baz
other_one: foo bar baz

stuffsky: ["foo", "bar", "baz"]
if gets.chomp != ""
  other_one.push(gets)
else
  break
end

I wish did fix the issue. If deals is array you can push it, you should add elements one by one.
code :
@stores.each do |s|
  if current_user.voted_for?(s)
    s.deals.each { |d| @my_deals << d }
  else

  end

This might help you The .length property of an array represents the highest index plus one in the array that has been assigned a value.
When you do not assign intermediate values (and thus have a sparse array), the intervening values that you have not assigned are undefined which is essentially the "nothing here" value in Javascript. The console chooses to display arrays by trying to show you every value between 0 and the end of the array which is simply not a very good way to display a sparse array that is mostly empty. That's more an artifact of a design choice in the console than anything else. One could design a different way to display contents of an array that would handle sparse arrays differently.
code :
var mydata = {};
mydata[13525] = 1;

console.log(mydata[13525]);   // 1
console.log(mydata.length); // undefined - no .length property on an object
console.log(myData);          // {1: 13525}

Hope that helps the answer may be as simple as to just invert the order of the requests
from:
code :
class Category < ActiveRecord::Base
    has_many :requests, :through => :categories_requests
    has_many :categories_requests
end
class Category < ActiveRecord::Base
    has_many :categories_requests
    has_many :requests, :through => :categories_requests
end
