With these it helps You can compress example data with gzip or zlib and use infgen to disassemble and examine the resulting compressed data. infgen also has an option to see the detail in the dynamic headers.

Deflate (or similar) compression available for Silverlight 3?

Deflate (or similar) compression available for Silverlight 3?

I wish did fix the issue. Silverlight can extract a file from a zip archive given a file name. .NET is capable of creating a Zip file. So assuming the direction is server->client (which it sounds like it is) you could use this client side code:-
code :
 WebClient client = new WebClient();
 client.OpenReadCompleted => (s, args)
 {
    StreamResourceInfo zipInfo = new StreamResourceInfo(args.Result, null);
    StreamResourceInfo streamInfo = Application.GetResourceStream(zipInfo, new Uri("myfile.dat", UriKind.Relative));
    YourFunctionToProcessTheDecompressedStream(streamInfo.Stream);
 }
 client.OpenRead(new Url("http://yourserver/somehandler.ashx"));

it fixes the issue UPDATE
According to the latest updates to the linked question, one should use GZip. See http://www.vervestudios.co/projects/compression-tests/results

Does that help Generally they mean mini-fying, or removing useless empty space, there should be a link that says view optimized version or download optimized version. Just save it over top of your old one and upload it to your server. That should take care of it.

With these it helps Using compression on images is usually a pretty bad idea since most of the widely used image formats on the web are already compressed so you would be only adding unnecessary overhead to the files. You generally want to use compression on resources that are textual in nature (HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc.) because for those the compression ratio is extremely high.
As for the question itself as far as I know it is not possible to use both DEFLATE and GZIP at the same time but honestly since I was never in a situation to try out something like that please bear with me if this information is incorrect.
code :

    AddType application/x-font-woff         woff

I wish this help you Other than the slow method, no.
No, there is not a guarantee that the compressed size is monotonic. However not being monotonic is pretty rare.
