I wish this help you I found out that the nonfree module of OpenCV was not installed. After installation I included the nonfree library #include and then called cv::initModule_nonfree();. The problem is solved.

Why does opencv FREAK extractor remove so many keypoints, specifically using ORB detector

I wish this helpful for you FREAK removes points if it can not generate a descriptor for it, many times this occurs in the border of the image as it cannot generate a descriptor if it falls out of the boundary image. I avoid this issue by applying a ROI before extraction.
I also use FAST combined with FREAK and I get the best results, but I still have the problem of reducing extractor time, which is too high for me.

To fix the issue you can do I don't immediately see what the problem is, but here's what you can do to help yourself (or update the question to have better chance of getting help here):
1st compile with warnings enabled:
code :
gcc -Wall -Wextra `pkg-config --cflags opencv` `pkg-config --libs opencv` -o videoHandler videoHandler.c

I think the issue was by ths following , I'm preparing to parallelize some of my C++ OpenCV code. I've come across a segfault, and I can't understand what's happening.
code :
ExhaustiveComparisonMT(vector<Mat> sigs, Mat dist)
{
        m_sigs = &sigs;
        m_dist = &dist; // gdb breakpoint 1 here
}

{
        m_sigs = &sigs;
        m_dist = &dist; // gdb breakpoint 1 here
}

this one helps. The Raspberry Pi cannot be expected to run floating point descriptors (such as SIFT or SURF) in real time. It simply does not have the processing power. Substituting faster binary detectors and descriptors is your best bet if running on the pi.
Currently, I would say your issues are:
