I wish this helpful for you As mentioned in my comment, sharing a controller between different views is rarely a good idea, and I'd strongly advise you to make a separate controller for each view.
As to your problem itself - you have two instances of your controller class, one for each time you call FXMLLoader.load. Presumably, one view has the fieldLoginUsername TextField, while the other has fieldRegisterUsername.

I wish this helpful for you FXML (@FXMLannotation, FXMLLoader...) were moved to the module javafx.fxml with the Java 9 release.
Before JavaFX 11, whenever you were calling something JavaFX related, you had all the javafx modules available within the SDK.
code :
<dependency>
    <groupId>org.openjfx</groupId>
    <artifactId>javafx-controls</artifactId>
    <version>11</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
    <groupId>org.openjfx</groupId>
    <artifactId>javafx-fxml</artifactId>
    <version>11</version>
</dependency>

around this issue I'm working on an Android App. The application works like a charm until I tried to obfuscate the code with Proguard. , use:
-keepattributes *Annotation*
Is it possible to have a Java annotation that doesn't apply to any class, method, field, etc. Just the annotation itself

fixed the issue. Will look into that further You cannot have a stand-alone annotation in Java.
Annotations can be applied to different things, for example: types, methods, fields, local variables, packages, method parameters and also on annotation definitions.
