may help you . If you open Sublime Text 2 -> Preferences -> Browse Packages... the Packages folder will open in Finder. For ST2, it is ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 2/Packages. If you upgrade to ST3 (which I highly recommend doing), the path is ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3/Packages.
In case you're not familiar with Unix paths, ~ indicates your home directory, similar to C:\Users\Username on a PC. On a Mac it's /Users/username.

hop of those help? The easiest way would be to set the Packages/ directory as the base for your repository, as all settings (except the license), Package Control plugins, themes, etc. are in its subfolders. I have my license in my gmail so I can look it up from wherever.
As a warning, just make sure you don't have any sensitive information in any of your settings, like server passwords and the like, as unless you've paid for a private Github repository anyone at all can see your settings.

around this issue In ST3, plugins/packages are run directly from the .sublime-package file. For most things, you don't actually need the contents of those files. For instance, you can create a Preferences.sublime-settings in the user folder, and it will be merged properly. That being said, ST3 does allow you to override files. To make things easier, you can use the plugin PackageResourceViewer. I wrote it to assist with viewing default files. Again, you don't need to do this for your particular case though. In the menu, go to Preferences -> Settings - User. This will create a preferences file in the user directory. When merged, the values in the User directory will be used rather than those in Default.

seems to work fine I have installed rubocop package for sublime text 3. I am trying to set custom rubocop configuration by providing rubocop.yml path to Rubocop.sublime-settings. Please find my configuration-snippet , After some prodding, I found this :
Error trying to parse settings: No data in ~/.config/sublime-text-2/Packages/User/CTags.sublime-settings:1:1

around this issue My guess is that is an empty file right now. Open the file (possibly through another editor) and insert {}. The settings files are JSON objects. That just looks like it's failing the JSON parse.
