Fabric task dependencies

Fabric task dependencies

To fix the issue you can do I managed to do this with the runs_once decorator and execute function.
The build task is now decorated with runs_once and every task that depends on build, e.g. deploy, will do execute(build) at the beginning. This will execute the build task or silently fail if it was already executed (thanks to the decorator).

Access to project configuration in a Gradle plugin task -> cannot determine dependencies of task

Access to project configuration in a Gradle plugin task -> cannot determine dependencies of task

I think the issue was by ths following , Aha!! I needed to prepend zipTree with 'project' .. that solved the problem. The error messages listed above were a bit misleading.
code :
..
from project.configurations.include.collect{project.zipTree(it)}
..
..
project.configurations.include.each {println it}
..

I hope this helps you . There is no built-in way to clone tasks. However, it's easy to configure the fatJar task to include the same files as the java plugin's jar task:
code :
task fatJar(type: Jar) {
    appendix = "fat"
    from sourceSets.main.output // that's it
    from { configurations.compile.collect { it.isDirectory() ? it : zipTree(it) } }
}
configure([jar, fatJar]) {
    version = "2.0"
    entryCompression = "STORED"
}
def getMeAnotherOne(String name) {
    task(name, type: Jar) {
       version = "2.0"
       entryCompression = "STORED"
    }
}

getMeAnotherOne("jar1")
getMeAnotherOne("jar2")
Is it more efficient to import dependencies to achieve a certain task or is coding without dependencies better?

this one helps. If you use an external library you don't have to code yourself the solution, and :
you're saving time with less code, your code base is easier to maintain the execution time is depending of the library code optimization if you're using maven your external library won't be compiled each time you need to compile your code
Service fabric task queue with completion task

like below fixes the issue You could also use ServiceFabric Actors for your requirement.
Create a central "JobService" that is triggered to do the work (e.g. a stateless service that hosts a WebApi) Create a "TaskActor" that will handle a single task Publish a cancellationToken in the ActorInterface In your "JobService", give every task a unique id and use this as the "ActorId" In Your "JobService", wait for the actors to complete the tasks and trigger the cleanup once all are complete. You can also cancel the other actors if one of them throws an exception.

this one helps. Don't know why this has gone unanswered for so long. What you've suggested is absolutely the right way - tasks and task_dependencies. It's already normalized properly and allows you to pick the required info in one query, indexed on the right columns.
