Pain-free local development while also referencing NuGet packages

Pain-free local development while also referencing NuGet packages

Hope that helps Unfortunately, there really isn't a way to have the best of both worlds. Internally in my company, we've mitigated it somewhat with a fast build/deploy process, which counteracts most of the burdens with always referencing a NuGet package. Basically, all of our applications use a different version of the same library hosted in a local NuGet repository. Since we use our own software to build, deploy, and host the packages, it makes it pretty quick to update the library, then update its NuGet package in another solution. Essentially, the fastest workflow we've found is this:
Make changes to library Automatically build and deploy version of library incremented by 1 to internal NuGet feed Update NuGet package in consumer application

fixed the issue. Will look into that further The best way to manage shared references is to create your own NuGet package for library A which, among other things, defines any dependencies (including versions) that library A relies on. If you don't want to publish library A to the public NuGet feed, you can host your own feed.
NuGet has some complex dependency resolution rules that will attempt to locate a dependency version that is compatible with your project and its dependencies. Unfortunately, this still won't solve your problem in point 3 above, where your solution and its dependent library use mutually incompatible versions of the same external dependency. In this case, you'll just have to re-work either your solution B or library A so that they use the same version of mongocsharpdriver.

With these it helps This is not supported. There is no way to specify a particular package source for a particular NuGet package.
You should either use different package ids or copy the required packages to the single package source where you can control which packages are used.

seems to work fine
I copied the packages from the default path above into a solution directory...it was still the default C:\Users[...]\packages\ path
code :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
  <configuration>
    <config>
      <add key="globalPackagesFolder" value=".\packages" />
    </config>
</configuration>

hop of those help? In addition to removing the PackageReferences from the project file, I also had to remove the following files from the $ProjectDir\obj directory:
Myproject.csproj.nuget.cache Myproject.csproj.nuget.g.props Myproject.csproj.nuget.g.targets project.assets.json

I wish this help you The package sources can be found in the Visual Studio options (Tools -> Options) under NuGet Package Manager -> Package Sources or directly by clicking on the according icon in the NuGet dialog (context menu of a solution/project -> Manage NuGet Packages...):
