Any of those help I am adding a sort function to my product search page. User can choose to sort by Price, ascending or descending and Product name, ascending or descending. The default is to sort by PRoduct ID. , Note the condition in the elseif:
code :
$_GET["sortOrder"] == "NameA2Z" || "NameZ2A"
$_GET["sortOrder"] == "NameA2Z" || $_GET["sortOrder"] == "NameZ2A"

it helps some times PHP will have to look at all code before it starts. Having it in a big file might be quicker, but one helluva kahuna to maintain.
Consider control statements like switch if you're writing lots of if..else.. stuff. Consider caching plugins to speed stuff up Consider code redundancy, using functions and modularising code. From your description, I've an awful vision of a main() with 5000 lines, which will be a nightmare to pick up in 6 months' time
How would I write an if - elseif - elseif conditional block in an .htaccess file?

may help you . Not an answer per-se (started out as a comment), but may help you a bit:
Your approach doesn't work because the RewriteBase isn't affected by RewriteCond directives. A RewriteCond can only be followed by another RewriteCond or a RewriteRule. RewriteBase is an entirely different beast: I don't think that a conditional RewriteBase is possible; I have the vague feeling that it's processed at startup, so can't be changed dynamically (but I may be very wrong about this). Google has a number of hits for "conditional rewritebase", you may look through those, but they seem largely negative.
code :
 RewriteBase /

 RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} =stagingsite.com
 RewriteRule ^ - [E=FRB:/staging/mysite]

 RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} =localhost
 RewriteRule ^ - [E=FRB:/dev/mysite]
 RewriteRule ^home$ %{ENV:FRB}/index.php
Only first elseif in if/elseif/else statement is working

I wish did fix the issue. Only the elseif (isset($foo['read'])) on line 37 is working, the if and first elseif work, when I try to call the second elseif, it returns the first elseif statements output. I have even swapped the two elseif statements and it still only returned the first elseif statement output when calling the second elseif statement. , try this(you must replace else if with elseif)
code :
else if ($foo && $foo=='read')
else if ($foo && $foo=='test')
else if (!$foo || $foo=='')

wish helps you Don't compare apples and oranges!
You'll need a numerical value if you want to compare it to other numerical values
code :
$myW3WP = ("{0:N2} " -f ($myW3WP.sum / 1mb))
$myW3WP = $myW3WP.Sum / 1MB
PHP elseif statements; separate elseif, or compressed into one?

PHP elseif statements; separate elseif, or compressed into one?

I hope this helps you . I'm basically wondering if there's a difference between enumerating all the possible conditions via separate elseif statements or combining them into one (apart from readability, that is). , The cleanest option I've seen for your code is the following:
