around this issue I've looked around and haven't able to find a plugin that will do exactly what I need: , It's easy to write such a thing...
code :
$('textarea').keyup(function(){
    var maxsize = 1000;
    if( $(this).val().length > maxsize)
        $(element).val($(element).val().substring(0, maxsize));
});
<textarea data-min="10" data-max="1000"></textarea>

$('textarea').keyup(function(){
    var maxsize = $(this).data('max');
    if( $(this).val().length > maxsize)
        $(element).val($(element).val().substring(0, maxsize));
});

$('textarea').blur(function(){
    var minsize = $(this).data('min');
    if( $(this).val().length < minsize)
        alert("Mininum size for this textarea is " + minsize);
});

Hope that helps I'm working within zend forms. Currently this is how it looks: , Give each "row" a class of formRow with the following CSS:
code :
.formRow {
    width: 100%;
    position: relative;
}
submit {
   position: absolute;
   bottom: 0;
   right: 0;
}

may help you . I think that your best bet would be to either use, or follow the example of, an existing approach to gridding an area, one such as UTM. Since you admit that your maths is weak, using is probably your better approach at this stage.
UTM will give you 1 and 2.

wish of those help The issue that you are facing is a bug and has already been reported as issue #35264.
I have created a workaround for it at jsfiddle. For convenience pasted code below.
code :
<input type="number" maxlength='6' name="pincode" id="pincode" size="30" max="999999" >
var pincode = document.getElementById('pincode');
var maxLength = pincode.maxLength;
pincode.onkeypress = function(e){
    if( pincode.value.length >= maxLength ){
        return false;
    }
};

this will help I have an annoying problem where I've been provided a file by a third party which is basically a huge set of classes (C# for reference). I've now had several revisions of this class now and for some unknown reason, the third party developers move classes around in the file from revision to revision. This makes dealing with any changes to their previous version problematic and time-consuming. , Split by public class at line start:
code :
(Get-Content r:\1.cs | Out-String) -split '(?:^|\r\n)public class\s+' -ne '' |
    ForEach {
        $className = $_ -replace '(?s)^(\w+).*$', '$1'
        "public class $_" | Out-File "r:\$className.cs" -encoding UTF8
    }
