Calling a parametrized method

this will help java.lang.Integer does not implement the Comparable interface that you just wrote.
You should delete that interface and use the built-in one, which it does implement.

I think the issue was by ths following , -- Revised answer, based on Exception and Blaisorblade's comments --
You've hit a limitation of Scala's application of implicits, rather than (just) a Scala-Java interop problem. Here's a simplified example,
code :
class Foo[T]
def f[T](x: Foo[T], y: T): T = y

f(new Foo[Number], new java.lang.Double(0)) // OK; infers T==Number
f[Number](new Foo[Number], 0)               // OK; uses implicit int2Integer(0)
// f(new Foo[Number], 0)                    // error
new KeyValue[Number](circle.translateYProperty, random() * height)

This might help you If you know the method signature, you can do something like this:
Using an example of a method that takes in an int and returns a string:
code :
var functionList = new List<Func<int, string>>();

functionlist.Add(SomeMethod)

functionlist[0](12345); //call the function

//Assuming you had this:
public string SomeMethod(int val) { ...

Any of those help It works if you override the type members like this. Scala does not infer them automatically.
code :
class A extends Entity {
  type E = A
  type S = Something[A]
  def in = InA
  object InA extends Something[A]
}
class B extends Entity {
  type E = B
  type S = Something[B]
  def in = InB
  object InB extends Something[B]
}
class C extends Entity {
  type E = C
  type S = Something[C]
  def in = InC
  object InC extends Something[C]
}
trait Entity[E <: Entity[E]] {
  def in: Something[E]
}

trait Something[E <: Entity[E]] {
  def doSomething {
    // something
  }
}

class A extends Entity[A] {
  def in = InA
  object InA extends Something[A]
}
class B extends Entity[B] {
  def in = InB
  object InB extends Something[B]
}
class C extends Entity[C] {
  def in = InC
  object InC extends Something[C]
}

val entities = Seq[Entity[_]]()
entities.map(_.in.doSomething)

it fixes the issue In your actual code, Node is a struct, not a class.
Adding the call to the default constructor is required in that case. Without it, you get a message saying the object "cannot be used before all of its fields are assigned to" since you're using an automatic property in a value type. This is because the compiler adds a backing field, and that field must be initialized before you can access the property. The constructor is trying to set the property before the field would be initialized. Every struct includes a default constructor, and calling it "zero-initializes" the backing field for the automatic property, allowing it to function correctly.

seems to work fine I am working on library management system project. Below is my LibraryCollection class. I would like to call my findMaterials() and checkOutMaterial() methods in the main class. , When you run:
code :
String search = null
librarycollectObj1.findMaterial(search);
public Material findMaterial(String theFindMaterial)
{
    if(theFindMaterial == null)
    {
        return null;
    }
public static LibraryCollection librarycollectObj1 = new LibraryCollection(10);

// Initialize the object somehow
for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) {
    librarycollectObj1.libraryCollection[i] = new Material(i, "");
}

String search = "1";
// Do some null checking in production code
System.out.println(librarycollectObj1.findMaterial(search). getMaterialId());
