it fixes the issue I have label in my secondviewcontroller. I would like to pass button index from firstviewcontroller to secondviewcontroller label. When I press button, it goes to second viewcontroller but label is nil , In the SecondViewController.h add another property:
code :
@property (nonatomic) NSInteger index;
NSInteger index = [carousel indexOfItemViewOrSubview:sender];
int ind=index;  //now you don't need this

SecondViewController *sVC = [[SecondViewController alloc]     initWithNibName:@"SecondViewController" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]];
sVC.myLabel.text=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d",ind];

// New line
sVC.index = index;

[self presentModalViewController:sVC animated:YES];

Passing a parameter in a Report's Open Event to a parameter query (Access 2007)

Passing a parameter in a Report's Open Event to a parameter query (Access 2007)

will be helpful for those in need The suggestion being made here is to 100% REMOVE the parameter from the query. This not only solves your problem, but then means you can use the query for code, other forms and not have your whole design fall apart because one stupid form is not open (hence the VERY reason for your question).
So, remove the parameters from the query. This also means that your report will now not need some form that already opened. And again, if some silly form is not opened, why should your report fail to work?
code :
Docmd.OpenReport "rptSuppliers",acViewPreview, , _
                "SupplierCode = " & me.SupplierCode
If CurrentProject.AllForms("form1").IsLoaded = False Then
   Me.Filter = "SupplierID = " & InputBox("Enter Supplier ID")
   Me.FilterOn = True
End

will be helpful for those in need Of course you can't pass xyzInstance.name to id because id is mapped to hibernate. So there's type mismatch because name is a string and id is an integer type.
You should pass name as param and retrieve it in your controller instead. So instead of doing this
code :
<g:link action="show" id="${xyzInstance.name}">${fieldValue(bean: xyzInstance, field: "name")}</g:link>
<g:link action="show" params="[name:${xyzInstance.name}]">${fieldValue(bean: xyzInstance, field: "name")}</g:link>
def show(){
    if(params.name){
        //do some thing with name here
    }

}

seems to work fine I think it depends on the nature of your data. If the intermediate directive has nothing to do with that data and its sole purpose by getting it is to pass it on, then it sounds to me it shouldn't do that.
You can also use a service to store that data and fetch it from your last child directive in a similar way it's done to share data between controllers.
Why does an int parameter allow passing a char value, but a char parameter doesn't accept passing an int value?

I hope this helps you . Implicit casting
Since int is big enough to accommodate all possible values for char, the automatic cast will be performed - which is called implicit casting and hence you don't need to do anything while calling that method with char.
code :
printChar((char)97);
Passing parameter of type 'object' in table-valued parameter for sql_variant column

Hope that helps This post is many years old now but I hit the same problem and have a solution. If you do not use a DataTable but instead populate a collection of SqlDataRecord then you can set the datatype of the SqlDataRecord to SqlDbType.Variant.
