I wish did fix the issue. To deal with dynamic bound limits you can extend the initial approach(array_slice + array_sum) using array_search function:

$arr = [2, 6, 24, 16, 7, 10];
$a = 10;
$b = 24;

$lowerBound = array_search($a, $arr);
$upperBound = array_search($b, $arr);

if (($low = $lowerBound) > $upperBound) {  // if bounds were confused
    $lowerBound = $upperBound;
    $upperBound = $low;
}
$sum = array_sum(array_slice($arr, $lowerBound, $upperBound - $lowerBound + 1));

print_r($sum);  // 57

I hope this helps you . I made this array but im struggling with counting the numbers. I could do it by using "IF" 10 times but it just seems wrong to me. Perhaps loop "for" would be the best to use here but i have no idea how to approach this. , Here is quick fix for you. Check following code.

I wish did fix the issue. This is the code that adds 4 to all odd numbers. , You need to reverse once AFTER applying addition to each item:

wish of those help You can use includes() function during filtering. Includes() works like in array function.
