will help you I have a list of payment transactions in a table. That include payment reversals. The Payment reversals are not flagged, so I have to infer that if a deduction is equal to an existing transaction it is a reversal , Minus operations use distinct sets. Try this instead:
code :
select row_number() over (partition by name_id, val order by name_id, val), name_id, val
from check_minus
where val > 0
  minus
select row_number() over (partition by name_id, val order by name_id, val), name_id, abs(val)
from check_minus
where val < 0
RowNum Name_Id   Val
1,     1,        20
2,     1,        5
2,     1,        15
3,     1,        15

Any of those help I think you are looking for something like this (I didn't compile it, but it should get you going in the right direction):
code :
List<String> list = ArrayList<>();
Map<String, Integer> counts = new HashMap<>();
// Fill list with values....

for (String item:list) {
    Integer count = counts.get(item);
    if (count == null) {
        // This is the first time we have seen item, so the count should be one.
        count = 1;
    } else {
        // Increment the count by one.
        count = count + 1;
    }
    counts.put(item, count);
}

// Print them all out.
for (Entry<String, Integer> entry : counts.entrySet()) {
    System.out.println(entry.getValue() + " " + entry.getKey());
}

around this issue Need apply + value_counts + reindex + sum:
code :
cols = ['Category A','Category B']
df1 = df[cols].apply(pd.value_counts).reindex(possibleValues, fill_value=0)
df1['total'] = df1.sum(axis=1)
print (df1)
   Category A  Category B  total
a           1           1      2
b           2           1      3
c           1           2      3
d           0           0      0
e           0           0      0
cols = ['Category A','Category B']
df1 = df[cols].apply(lambda x: pd.Series.value_counts(x.astype('category',
                                                                categories=possibleValues)))
df1['total'] = df1.sum(axis=1)
print (df1)
   Category A  Category B  total
a           1           1      2
b           2           1      3
c           1           2      3
d           0           0      0
e           0           0      0

Any of those help So, I have two "dates" on one sheet that I want to then locate on another sheet (which is a large list of dates with whether they are working days), create a range and count both the total days and the total working days (NOT including the first date). , I think you can use a countifs formula.
something like:
code :
=countifs(Date_List,">=" & MinDate, Date_List, "<=" & MaxDate)
=countifs(Date_List,">=" & MinDate, Date_List, "<=" & MaxDate,Date_Worked,"=D")
