code :
$("#box" + boxid).find( '.product' ).each(function() {
    //Toggle display
    $( this ).toggle();
});

hope this fix your issue You have all sorts of problems:
CHILDREN is a constant in Ruby because it starts with a capital letter, you don't want that. Next if you change it to children it would then be a local variable but you need an instance variable for the instance of the definition of the parent class so you need to use @children. You need to make the @children availible at the class level (which is probably why you were trying the CHILDREN thing).
code :
class Parent

  @children = []

  # Make the attr_reader for the class not an instance of the class
  class << self
    attr_reader :children
  end

  def self.inherited(child)
    puts "Parent inherited by child: #{child.inspect}"
    @children << child
    super
  end
end

class Child1 < Parent
end
puts "Child1 class created"

class Child2 < Parent
end
puts "Child2 class created"

c1 = Child1.new
c2 = Child2.new

puts "Parent.children: #{Parent.children}"
Parent inherited by child: Child1
Child1 class created
Parent inherited by child: Child2
Child2 class created
Parent.children: [Child1, Child2]

This might help you I got my first answer wrong. Select the div, then navigate to the parent and select the text of the 'script' child.
code :
$('#' + divId)
    .parent()
    .children('script')
    .text();

Any of those help First off, your HTML and JS don't match up. Heres a way to do it in jQuery, though, and its quite simple. For the following HTML:
code :
<div class="parent">
    <div class="child"></div>
    <div class="child"></div>
</div>
<div class="parent">
    <div class="child"></div>
    <div class="child"></div>
    <div class="child"></div>
</div>
$(".parent").each(function(){
    // instead of using if, why don't you just calculate it?
    // first, check the width of a child by dividing 100 by the amount of children
    var child_width = 100 / $(this).children().length;
    // then, round it to the below number so you get a nice round number and the total doesnt exceed 100
        child_width = Math.floor(child_width);
    // the $(this) selector represents the current .parent
    $(this).children().css("width", child_width + "%");
})

$('body.boxes.create #submit_box, body.boxes.new #submit_box').doSomething();
$('body.boxes.create, body.boxes.new').find('#submit_box').doSomething()
$('#submit_box', 'body.boxes.create, body.boxes.new').doSomething()

this one helps. You can use find on the parent to get all the elements with the two classes inside them. You can directly use the elementy any further:
code :
var elements = $(".btnUploadWrapper").find(".postFileSuccess.hidden");
var elements = $(".btnUploadWrapper").children(".postFileSuccess.hidden");
