Create a list of dates and match records to the list

To fix this issue I am trying to gather a set of MI which counts the number of 'events' for a day. As this is MI i also need to list the days which haven't got any 'events' listed. My query is as follows: , There's a simple calendar in Teradata with public access rights:
code :
SELECT
    c.calendar_date,
    COUNT(event_timestamp) -- need to count a column from the inner table
FROM sys_calendar.CALENDAR AS c
LEFT JOIN
    table1
ON c.calendar_date = event_timestamp -- assuming event_timestamp is a DATE, otherwise it's CAST(event_timestamp AS DATE)
WHERE c.calendar_date BETWEEN your-starting-date AND your-ending-date
GROUP BY
    c.calendar_date
ORDER BY
     c.calendar_date
;

around this issue Sorry if the title's unclear, I didn't know how better to phrase it.
code :
Playlist.joins(:users)
  .where.not(id: @playlist.id)
  .where(users: {id: @playlist.user_ids})
  .group(:id)
  .order('count(*) desc')
@playlists = Playlist.select('playlists.*, count(*) as shared_users_count')
  .joins(...)
  ...
  .order('shared_users_count desc')

# print out shared users count
@playlists.each { |pl| puts pl.shared_users_count }

hope this fix your issue I have a list of strings a, and a list of tuples b where: , EDIT :
Since you say -
code :
for source_dest_statement in source_dest_statements:
    amended_source_dest_statements.append(source_dest_statement)
    for i,j in in source_dest_tuple:
        if j in amended_source_dest_statements[-1]:
            amended_source_dest_statements[-1]   = re.sub(j,i,amended_source_dest_statements[-1])
>>> import re
>>> a=['from src1 to dest2','from src3 to dest4','from src5 to dest6']
>>> b=[['destb','dest2'],['destd','loc4'],['destf','dest6'],['desth','dest8']]
>>> result = []
>>> for x in a:
...     result.append(x)
...     for i,j in b:

around this issue , You can do it with one for-loop only by stepping by 2
code :
DateTime currentDate = DateTime.Now.Date;

for (int i = 0; i < List.Count && i < 60; i += 2) {
    AddClient(i, currentDate);
    if (i + 1 < List.Count) {
        AddClient(i + 1, currentDate);
    }
    currentDate = currentDate.AddDays(1);
}

void AddClient(int clientIndex, DateTime dateTime)
{
    var client = new Client {
        Name = List[clientIndex].Name,
        Date = dateTime
    };
    List2.Add(client);
}
const int ClientsPerDay = 2;
DateTime currentDate = DateTime.Now.Date;

for (int i = 0; i < List.Count && i < ClientsPerDay * 30; i += ClientsPerDay) {
    for (int j = 0; j < ClientsPerDay; j++) {
        int clientIndex = i + j;
        if (clientIndex < List.Count) {
            var client = new Client {
                Name = List[clientIndex].Name,
                Date = currentDate
            };
            List2.Add(client);
        }
    }
    currentDate = currentDate.AddDays(1);
}
int clientCount = Math.Min(List.Count, ClientsPerDay * 30);
for (int i = 0; i < clientCount; i += ClientsPerDay) {
   ...
}
const int ClientsPerDay = 2, NumDays = 30;
DateTime date = DateTime.Now.Date;
for (int i = 0; i < ClientsPerDay * NumDays; i += ClientsPerDay) {
    for (int j = 0; j < ClientsPerDay; j++) {
        int clientIndex = (i + j) % List.Count; // clientIndex = [0 .. List.Count - 1]
        var client = new Client {
            Name = List[clientIndex].Name,
            Date = date
        };
        List2.Add(client);
    }
    date = date.AddDays(1);
}

wish helps you If you split your day up in 10 minute intervals you know that there will be 144 slots (60 minutes / 10 intervals * 24 hours). With that being said, the way that I would tackle this problem would be to create a Dictionary where the key would represent the Date and the value would be a String array.
The values in the String array would be an Empty string to represent an open time slot or populated to represent an existing appointment.
code :
Dim DateTemplate As New Dictionary(Of Date, String())
For Each existingAppointment As DateTime In DateList
    If Not DateTemplate.ContainsKey(existingAppointment.Date) Then
        DateTemplate.Add(existingAppointment.Date, Enumerable.Range(1, 144).Select(function(i) String.Empty).ToArray())
    End If
    DateTemplate(existingAppointment.Date)(existingAppointment.TimeOfDay.TotalMinutes \ 10) = "Apointment Booked"
