Convert query to a Left-Join (?) to include userid's without a match

Convert query to a Left-Join (?) to include userid's without a match

seems to work fine The hard part is not the conversion to LEFT JOIN (basically that just involves changing the comma-join to a regular ANSI JOIN, and then inserting the keyword LEFT), but rather, fixing the SUM expression to only add the rows where actResults.winner = picks.winner. Here is one way to do it:
code :
SELECT picks.userid AS Player,
       SUM(CASE WHEN actResults.winner IS NULL
                THEN 0
                ELSE picks.points
            END) AS Points
  FROM picks
  JOIN games
    ON games.id = picks.gameid
  LEFT
  JOIN actResults
    ON actResults.winner = picks.winner
 WHERE games.year = '2014'
 GROUP BY picks.userid
 ORDER BY Points DESC
;
SELECT picks.userid AS Player,
       SUM(CASE WHEN actResults.winner = picks.winner
                THEN picks.points
                ELSE 0
            END) AS Points,
       SUM(CASE WHEN actResults.gameid IS NULL
                THEN picks.points
                ELSE 0
            END) AS AvailablePoints
  FROM picks
  JOIN games
    ON games.id = picks.gameid
  LEFT
  JOIN actResults
    ON actResults.gameid = games.id
 WHERE games.year = '2014'
 GROUP BY picks.userid
 ORDER BY Points DESC
;

seems to work fine I have five mysql tables. , You could try something like this:
code :
SELECT
    availability.shop_id,
    shops.name,
     shop_activity.status
FROM availability
LEFT JOIN shops
ON availability.shop_id=shops.id
LEFT JOIN shop_activity
ON shop_activity.shop_id = availability.shop_id
   and shop_activity.user_id = 1
WHERE
fruit_id = 2
MySQL LEFT JOIN and ON w/ LIKE - this query will not run but the match does exist

wish help you to fix your issue This is not correct, you need to specify which column you want to use for the JOIN, but you can do something like this
code :
SELECT * from table_1 AS a
   LEFT JOIN table_sql AS b
   ON a.case_id = b.id
WHERE
   a.case_id LIKE '%45305%'

help you fix your problem Instead of using UNION ALL in a subquery as suggested by others, you could also (and I would) use UNION ALL at the outer level, which keeps the query simpler:
code :
SELECT A.ID, A.ProductName, B.ID, B.Size
FROM A
INNER JOIN B
ON B.ProductID = A.ID
UNION ALL
SELECT A.ID, A.ProductName, NULL, NULL
FROM A

code :
 var result = from at in db.AssetTagging
              join r in db.Returns on at.AssetID equals r.AssetID into a
              from returns into a.DefaultIfEmpty()
              join i in db.Issues on at.AssetID equals I.AssetID into b
              from issues into b.DefaultIfEmpty()
              where issues.AssetID != null || returns.RequestStatus == "Approved"
              select new
                    {
                      AssetID = at.AssetID,
                      AssetDescription = at.AssetDescription,
                      Status = returns != null ? returns.RequestStatus : null
                    }.ToList();

like below fixes the issue You need a subquery left join. ->leftJoin('in_h',function($join_in_h){...} does not do a subquery join; that's a regular left join with a fancy join clause.
Instead use ->leftJoinSub.
code :
$ref_books = DB::table('in_h')
    ->select('in_d2.ref_book')
    ->join('in_d2', function($join){
        $join->on('in_h.doc_code','=','in_d2.doc_code')
             ->where('in_h.book','=','in_d2.book');
    })
    ->where('in_h.doc_code','=','IN')
    ->groupBy('in_d2.ref_book');
$order_progress = DB::table('v_dts')
    ->select('v_dts.*')
    ->leftJoinSub($ref_books, 'i',function($join){
        $join->on('v_dts.book', '=', 'i.ref_book');
    })
    ->get();
