wish help you to fix your issue Yes, it's generally possible on all of those OSs; the details are OS-specific, of course, and it's not exactly trivial on any of them. There are commercial or freeware tools for all OSs that do it. On Linux, you could just use, for example, Xvidcap.

I wish this helpful for you I am declaring a global variable for String selectedImagePath. On button click I am calling video capture code , Try this instead:
code :
private String videoPath = "";

public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) {
    super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data);

      Uri vid = data.getData();
      videoPath = getRealPathFromURI(vid);

public String getRealPathFromURI(Uri contentUri) {
    String[] proj = { MediaStore.Images.Media.DATA };
    Cursor cursor = managedQuery(contentUri, proj, null, null, null);
    int column_index = cursor.getColumnIndexOrThrow(MediaStore.Images.Media.DATA);
    return cursor.getString(column_index);

I hope this helps . You need to use the XuggleVideoWriter class. The following code displays the video content on the screen and writes the content to a file until the escape key is pressed. The format of the video is controlled by the name of the file (i.e. "video.flv" creates an FLV format video).
code :
package org.openimaj.demos.sandbox;

import java.awt.event.KeyAdapter;
import java.awt.event.KeyEvent;
import java.io.IOException;

import javax.swing.SwingUtilities;

import org.openimaj.image.MBFImage;
import org.openimaj.video.Video;
import org.openimaj.video.VideoDisplay;
import org.openimaj.video.VideoDisplayListener;
import org.openimaj.video.capture.VideoCapture;
import org.openimaj.video.xuggle.XuggleVideoWriter;

    private Video<MBFImage> video;

    private XuggleVideoWriter writer;
    private boolean close = false;

        //open a writer
        writer = new XuggleVideoWriter("video.flv", video.getWidth(), video.getHeight(), 30);

        //set this class to listen to video display events

        //set this class to listen to keyboard events

    public void afterUpdate(VideoDisplay<MBFImage> display) {
        //Do nothing

will be helpful for those in need You could use OpenCV for video processing, it's a cross platform image/video processing library: http://opencv.willowgarage.com
Your code would look something like this:
