I wish this help you According to this it's correct : BackgroundWorker.cs
code :
public void RunWorkerAsync(object argument)
    {
        if (isRunning)
        {
            throw new InvalidOperationException(SR.GetString(SR.BackgroundWorker_WorkerAlreadyRunning));
        }

        isRunning = true;
        cancellationPending = false;

        asyncOperation = AsyncOperationManager.CreateOperation(null);
        threadStart.BeginInvoke(argument,
                                null,
                                null);
    }

Timer isn't stoping then restarting after executing method?

Timer isn't stoping then restarting after executing method?

around this issue I have been working on this project for the past 3 days till 3-4 am and I believe I know where its messing up (My comments are marking the calculation that I believe is the issue) but as for solving the calculation and if that would even fix the timer I am not sure. I have marked in the code where I believe is the problem but I would accept any opinion on what they believe may fix it or where it is messing up. If it is the one calculation in the (Check) Method then I am not sure what calculation would fix it. If it is something else that someone else see's that I do not please tell me. I have looked at several different options and none seem to work. , Why not do something like this in the Timer_Tick?
code :
If ticks = userTimeInterval Then
  SendMessage()
  Check()
  ticks = 0
Else
   ticks += 1
End If

wish of those help Yes, GNU make's parallelization support handles this properly (it would not be very useful if it didn't!) In general, if your makefile environment completely and correctly declares your dependency graph to make, then make will always build it correctly regardless of the number of parallel jobs.
The trick is that for some kinds of complicated environments, it can be difficult to completely and correctly declare the dependency graph. But for simple situations like above, there's no problem.

wish help you to fix your issue Whatever operation finishes first will be the result. It is very unlikely and probably technically impossible that the operation happen at the same time. So one of both comes first. Then there is also the time it takes for the request to be received by the server and browser. So whenever the next view request comes you'll get whatever at this point was updated in the database.
By checking the code you can also see that the code is doing a find('count') instead of inc/decrementing by +/- one. http://api.cakephp.org/2.3/source-class-Model.html#1913-1981 So the cache gets written after the previous action was completed.

help you fix your problem foo() is so short that each thread probably finishes before the next one even gets spawned. If you add a sleep for a random time in foo() before the u++, you may start seeing what you expect.

fixed the issue. Will look into that further 1) what can possibly go wrong with this race condition?
Undefined behavior memory corruption crashes Literally the worst possible outcome of not knowing and potentially having a completely invalid value in your variable :p
