fixed the issue. Will look into that further I have a bunch of related VB.NET console applications I've written for admin/management functions. , Based on the comments, change your Form_Load as follows:
code :
proc = Process.Start("\\fileserver\datashare\path\WIN_MGR.exe")
Thread.Sleep(1000) 'Possibly replace this with polling MainWindowHandle
SetParent(proc.MainWindowHandle, Me.Panel1.Handle)
SendMessage(proc.MainWindowHandle, WM_SYSCOMMAND, SC_MAXIMIZE, 0)

fixed the issue. Will look into that further Ok, string[] args = Environment.GetCommandLineArgs() is a better option. But I will keep the following answer as an alternative to it.
Look for a file called Program.cs containing the following code fragment...
code :
static class Program
{
    /// <summary>
    /// The main entry point for the application.
    /// </summary>
    [STAThread]
    static void Main()
    {
        Application.EnableVisualStyles();
        Application.SetCompatibleTextRenderingDefault(false);
        Application.Run(new Form1());
    }
}
static class Program
{

    public static string[] CommandLineArgs { get; private set;}

    /// <summary>
    /// The main entry point for the application.
    /// </summary>
    [STAThread]
    static void Main(string[] args)
    {
        CommandLineArgs = args;
        Application.EnableVisualStyles();
        Application.SetCompatibleTextRenderingDefault(false);
        Application.Run(new Form1());
    }
}
Program.CommandLineArgs

wish helps you You are not using the using keyword appropriately here. After the Register() call, the server will be immediately disposed. Which does indeed make it pretty unlikely that it will still be alive by the time the Load event runs.
Make the server variable a field in your form class. Don't dispose it until the form is closed, do so in the OnFormClosed() method override or FormClosed event handler.

wish helps you I have a solution that contains both a Windows Forms application and a Console application. I have some functionality in the Windows Forms application that I would like to use in the Console application without manually copying and pasting the code into a second location.
code :
Console Project
...Properties
...Refernces <including CommonCode Class Library>
...Program.cs
...class1.cs
...etc
CommonCode Class Library
...classA.cs
...classB.cs
...etc

Winforms Project
...Properties
...Refernces <including CommonCode Class Library>
...Form1
...Program.cs
CommonCode Class Library
...classA.cs
...classB.cs
...etc

hop of those help? The answer to this problem ended up being something totally unexpected. The problem lied in the Application's Icon.
After troubleshooting further, I noticed that when I created a new project, added all of the files to the project, and compiled it - the program would run from the EXE file. I kept going with making changes to the project, and then after some final touches (which included changing the application icon, adding a strong name, and other things that I've done on many other applications), I noticed that suddenly the EXE stopped working when double clicking on it.
Event handler works with console application, but not forms application (VB.NET)

I wish this helpful for you do not use MsgBox, use Debug.Print.
You are calling MsgBox on a thread which is NOT the message thread of the winform app.
