Hope this helps You may use string.matches. Below regex should match only invalid strings. That is, the string having 4 or more A's or B's or C's.
code :
if (string.matches(".*([ABC])\\1{3,}.*")) {
    System.out.println("Invalid");
} else {
    System.out.println("Valid");
}

To fix the issue you can do You need to use 'smart.txt' instead of smart.txt when you're opening the file. So you would change f= open(smart.txt, 'r') to f= open('smart.txt', 'r').
Also you should use with open('smart.txt', 'r') as f to automatically close the file when you are done with it.

hope this fix your issue For your current example data, you might use a capturing group to capture right before the forward slash and a digit as the defined string.
Then match from that point until the end of the string and repeat the matching using a backreference to group 1.
code :
^(https?://[^/\n]+)/.*(?:\R\1.*)*

it helps some times With File.ReadAllLines you have already read the file, so you can process each one line in the string[] (replaces and regexes), and then write them in the output. You don't have to reread them and put them in the StringBuilder.
