this one helps. These simple two line code giving me error A field initializer cannot reference the nonstatic field, method, or propertyClassName.value'` . i just follow tutorial from enter link description here. I am using this code in unity3d. , I guess you are trying to access value in the class scope like this:
code :
class Foo
{
   string value = "Dot Net Perls";
   char[] array = value.ToCharArray();
}
string value = "Dot Net Perls";

will be helpful for those in need When I run the windows form application it shows initializer cannot reference the nonstatic field method or property. ,
I thin, it can not recognize lia as string.
code :
public class Foo
{
    // TODO: Fix names to be more conventional and friendly
    string lia = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.Desktop);
    StreamReader fileitem;

    public Foo()
    {
        fileitem=new StreamReader(Path.Combine(lia,"dataset.txt"));
    }
}

Any of those help You can't use Unity's GetComponent function outside a function. Put it in a function and you should be fine. In this is case, it is appropriate to put it in a Start() or Awake() function.
code :
public class PlayerMovement : MonoBehaviour
{
    public float moveSpeed;

    public static Rigidbody rb;
    private Vector3 input;

    // Use this for initialization
    void Start()
    {
        rb = GetComponent<Rigidbody>();
    }

    // Update is called once per frame
    void Update()
    {
        input = new Vector3(Input.GetAxis("Horizontal"), 0, Input.GetAxis("Vertical"));
        GetComponent<Rigidbody>().AddForce(input);
    }
}

I hope this helps you . Coding enthusiast/hobbyist here, new to C#, trying to wrap my head around the language and have been beating my head against a wall on this problem for a few days. Have tried searching on this site as well as reading the documentation on this error on msdn, as well as documentation on classes, field, intitialization, etc. Apologies if this is obvious to everyone else, but I've tied my brain in knots trying to understand this error. , You should reference your slime's name like this:
code :
  string monsterName = s.Name;
class Combat
{
  public int[] playerStats = new int[] { 25, 10};
  public int[] monsterStats = new int[] { 10, 10};
  string playerName;
  string monsterName;

  public Combat(string playerName)
  {
    this.playerName = playerName;
    Slime s = new Slime();
    monsterName = s.Name;
  }
}
  Slime s = new Slime();
  var slime = new Slime();
public string Name { get; set; } = "Slime";

wish of those help As the error says, you can't access another field from a field initializer. If your BadgeAssignmentRepository needs a reference to your db field, initialize it in your controller's constructor like this:
