I wish this helpful for you i have used the punjabi font anmollipi in my android application. it is working good when i read it from a file using buffere reader but i am not able to show the punjabi in the ListView. any suggestions , Create a custom adapter like this -
code :
    public class CustomUsersAdapter extends ArrayAdapter<User> {
    public CustomUsersAdapter(Context context, ArrayList<User> users) {
        super(context, 0, users);
     }

     @Override
     public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) {
        // Get the data item for this position
        User user = getItem(position);
        // Check if an existing view is being reused, otherwise inflate the view
        if (convertView == null) {
           convertView = LayoutInflater.from(getContext()).inflate(R.layout.item_user, parent, false);
        }
        // Lookup view for data population
        TextView tvName = (TextView) convertView.findViewById(R.id.title);
        Typeface type = Typeface.createFromAsset(getAssets(),"fonts/Kokila.ttf");
        tvName.setTypeface(type);
        // Populate the data into the template view using the data object
        tvName.setText(user.name);
        // Return the completed view to render on screen
        return convertView;
    }
}
    <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
    android:layout_width="fill_parent"
    android:layout_height="fill_parent" >

    <TextView
        android:id="@+id/title"
        android:layout_width="wrap_content"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        android:layout_toRightOf="@+id/icon"
        android:paddingBottom="10dp"
        android:textColor="#CC0033"
        android:textSize="16dp" />
</RelativeLayout>
Typeface type = Typeface.createFromAsset(getAssets(),"fonts/Kokila.ttf");
txtView.setTypeface(type);

To fix the issue you can do You can use custom TrueType fonts by copying the .ttf file into your projects's 'assets' folder.
Then in your application you can use the font like this;
code :
final Typeface customF = Typeface.createFromAsset(this.getAssets(), "custom.ttf");
final TextView textV = (TextView) findViewById(...);
textV.setTypeface(customF);

seems to work fine I don't think there is anything you can do about it because on that particular website they use a special font that turns the jumbled nonsense into the special characters.
You can see this in action if you view the source of the website and scroll down to where the text should be.

Hope that helps I'm developing an app. In my app I'm stored some information in a class named Promo in which I defined 4 strings and I made the 4 getter and setters. Then I made another class named Promotions in which I defined an array of Promo. To store data in the Promo model I'm doing so: ,
create adapter:
code :
lvTitle = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.lvTitle);
ArrayList<Promo> list = new ArrayList<Promo>();

ArrayAdapter mAdapter = new ArrayAdapter(getContext() , R.id.lvTitle, list);
lvTitle.setAdapter(mAdapter);

lvTitle.setOnItemClickListener(new AdapterView.OnItemClickListener() {
    @Override
    public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) {

    }
});
mAdapter.add(promo);
Promo promo = new Promo();
... set properties as wanted
list.add(promo)

will help you You're getting the NullPointerExceptions because you're inflating two types of views and when you scroll Android will reuse your views but at some point it will bring you R.layout.list_item_entry for isSection() evaluated to true or vice-versa: R.layout.list_item_section for isSection() evaluated to false.
What you need to do is to implement two other methods in your adapter:
code :
@Override
public int getViewTypeCount() {
    return 2;
}

@Override
public int getItemViewType(int position) {
    Item i = items.get(position);
    if(i.isSection()) {
        return 0;
    }
    return 1;
}

@Override
public View getView(final int position, View v, ViewGroup parent) {
    final Item i = items.get(position);
    int itemViewType = getItemViewType(position);
    ViewHolder viewHolder = null;
    if (itemViewType == 0) {
        if (v == null) {
            viewHolder = new ViewHolder();
            v = vi.inflate(R.layout.list_item_section, null);
            viewHolder.mSectionView = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.list_item_section_text);
            v.setTag(mHolder);
        } else {
            viewHolder = (ViewHolder) v.getTag();
        }

        v.setOnClickListener(null);
        v.setOnLongClickListener(null);
        v.setLongClickable(false);

        //final TextView sectionView = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.list_item_section_text);
        viewHolder.mSectionView.setTypeface(StaticUtils.sTypeFace(context));
        viewHolder.mSectionView.setText(mHolder.s.getTitle());
        v.setEnabled(false);
    } else {
        EntryItem e = (EntryItem) i;
        //v = vi.inflate(R.layout.list_item_entry, null);
        if (v == null) {
            viewHolder = new ViewHolder();
            v = (View) vi.inflate(R.layout.list_item_entry, null);
            viewHolder.mTitle = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.list_item_entry_title);
            viewHolder.mImg = (ImageView) v.findViewById(R.id.list_item_entry_drawable);
            viewHolder.mImg.getLayoutParams().height = mIvPrams;
            viewHolder.mImg.getLayoutParams().width = mIvPrams;
            v.setTag(mHolder);
            // Do some initialization
        } else {
            viewHolder = (ViewHolder) v.getTag();
        }

        //mHolder.mTitle.setTypeface(StaticUtils.sTypeFace(context));
        //mHolder.mTitle.setSelected(true);
        if (viewHolder.mTitle != null)
            viewHolder.mTitle.setText(mHolder.e.title);
        imageLoader.displayImage(e.imgUrl, viewHolder.mImg, options, animateFirstListener);
    }
    return v;
}
