around this issue json() is a method on a requests.Response instance, you need to call it:
code :
another_function(ids, r.json())

it fixes the issue You are not calling extract properly, for each extract you have to actual call the method then index it:
code :
item['Title'] = sel.xpath('div[2]/h2/a/text()').extract()[0]
                                                       ^^^
 item['Title'] = sel.xpath('div[2]/h2/a/text()').extract_first()

seems to work fine Looking at the code, I assume you want to get the value of redirect_field_name or an empty string if it is not found.
The thing is that you need to call the function get from the request.GET dictionary, and you're currently mixing concepts (you are using [] instead of ()).

I hope this helps you . I'm still migrating some modules from v8 to v10 community. , you are calling search method using square brackets.
Should be:
code :
url.search(...)

it helps some times I fixed this error by binding my celery package to the version that works with my django application.
Those were the versions that throw the error
