wish of those help This is because you need all of your redirect rules before any of the routing rules (the ones without the R flag), so:
code :
DirectoryIndex index.php
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^(.*)//(.*)$
RewriteRule . %1/%2 [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP:CF-Visitor} '"scheme":"http"'
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://example.com/$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^.*$ index.php?qa-rewrite=$0&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
</IfModule>

I hope this helps you . The 301 redirect is the proper method. You cannot switch between HTTP and HTTPS mid-stream. The page must be reloaded in the client. The second method, via $_SERVER['HTTPS'] is the preferred method. Simply ensure that your web server supports it.
allow https to a single file on site with https redirecting to http (via web.config)

this will help My website was accessible by both HTTP and HTTPS until the SEO gents said we should go with one or the other (to avoid duplicate content). We've implemented an HTTPS -> HTTP redirect for all content on the site to do this which was set up via the web.config file. , solved by adding a rule that didn't redirect to HTTP for .jpg files:
code :
<rule name="allow jpg to use https" stopProcessing="true">
    <match url="(.*)(jpg)" />
    <conditions>
        <add input="{HTTPS}" pattern="^on$" ignoreCase="true"/>
    </conditions>
</rule>

hope this fix your issue This is not possible to solve only by htaccess or nginx conf.
One needs a certificate to cover both the www and non www version of the domain
htaccess redirecting multiple domains, https and http, www and non-www, all to one https domain

To fix this issue I have three different domains, and I want to make sure that all domains redirect to the one domain. , You can use this single rule with a [OR] clause:
code :
RewriteEngine On

RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.domain3\.co.uk$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^ https://www.domain3.co.uk%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L,NE]

I think the issue was by ths following , You are returning your django app url instead of redirecting it to your http nginx block.
In your http part of config:
code :
 server {
     return 301 https://$host$request_uri;
     listen 80;
 }
server {
    location / {
         proxy_set_header Host $http_host;
         proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr;
         proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for;
         proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto $scheme;
         proxy_pass http://djangoapp;
    }
}
