        listView = getListView();

                android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1, arrayList);
        listView.setAdapter(adapter);

        Cursor cursor = db.rawQuery("SELECT * FROM student", null);
        //  Toast.makeText(myContext, ""+cursor.getCount(), Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
        if (cursor.moveToFirst())
        {

this will help Turns out that using the Holder created by Guice in the constructor was the problem. If I use a Provider, then the list behaves as expected
code :
public class ListViewHolder extends ViewHolder {

    @Override
    public View getView(View view) {
        Holder holder;

        if (view == null) {
            view = LayoutInflater.from(contextProvider.get()).inflate(R.layout.entry, null);
            // getHolder looks like this:
            // @Inject
            // private Provider<Holder> holderProvider;
            // public Holder getHolder() {
            //     holderProvider.get();
            // }
            holder = getHolder();

            holder.text = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.textView1);

            view.setTag(viewStructure);
        } else {
            holder = (DualTextViewStructure) view.getTag();
        }

        holder.text.setText(/* Date */);

        return view;
    }
}

Hope this helps My list was displaying several items that had empty strings.
As a result of this list being sorted in ascending order, the items that displayed empty text showed up at the beginning of the list while the other items did exist but were not within the scrollviewer's viewport.
code :
if (string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(contact.DisplayName))
{
    continue;
}

This might help you You can hide each view you don't need showing for that particular item by using:
code :
Boolean someCondition = true;

if (someCondition)
    holder.dynamic_views.get(i).setVisibility(View.GONE);

I hope this helps you . You can use such linq query to get items which are present in listView1 but are absent in listView2:
code :
var diff = listView1.Items.Cast<ListViewItem>().Select(x => x.Text)
                    .Except(listView2.Items.Cast<ListViewItem>().Select(x => x.Text));
MessageBox.Show(string.Format("{0} Missing.", string.Join(",", diff)));
