it should still fix some issue Use the keydown event instead.
KeyPress event is invoked only for character (printable) keys, KeyDown event is raised for all including non-printable such as Control, Shift, Alt, BackSpace, etc.

Any of those help How would I create a Stream of KeyBoardEvent's that is triggered when long pressing the key in some html element.
code :
@Directive(
    selector: '[longpress]')
class LongPress {
  @Output() EventEmitter<KeyboardEvent> longpress =
      new EventEmitter<KeyboardEvent>();

  KeyboardEvent _startEvent;
  @Input() Duration longpressDelay = new Duration(seconds: 2);
  Timer timer;

  @HostListener("keydown", const [r"$event"])
  @HostListener("keyup", const [r"$event"])
  void keyEventHandler(KeyboardEvent event) {
    if (_startEvent == null ||
        _startEvent.type != event.type ||
        _startEvent.keyCode != event.keyCode) {
      if (timer != null) {
        timer.cancel();
      }
      _startEvent = event;

      if(event.type == 'keyup') {
        timer = new Timer(longpressDelay, () {
          longpress.add(_startEvent);
          timer = null;
        });
      }
    }
  }
}
<label for="input">Longpress: </label><input id="longpress" longpress (longpress)="longPressed($event)">
<label for="input">Longpress: </label><input id="longpress" (longpress)="longPressed($event)">
LongPress(ElementRef elementRef) {
  (elementRef.nativeElement as Element).onKeyDown.listen(keyEventHandler);
  (elementRef.nativeElement as Element).onKeyUp.listen(keyEventHandler);
}

To fix this issue This could happen when the listener and the source of the event are in different application domains. This way you can have exactly the same qualified names, but different classes behind them.
getDefinitionByName() uses the current application domain of the scope you are calling it from. So, in the only successful log line you are comparing the class you have in current domain with RichEditableText reference, which is also in current domain, which naturally yields true.
What should I use instead of the deprecated KeyboardEvent.which and KeyboardEvent.keyCode?

it should still fix some issue I think you want event.key. It seems to be widely supported.
The "key" property gives the character reflected by the user interaction with the keyboard, taking into account all the meta keys involved (shift, ctrl, etc).
code :
if (event.key === "Enter") {
  // enter key was pressed
}

will be helpful for those in need I don't have a particular solution to this, but I updated to latest Flutter version that came up today, moved the "CREATED" string into constant and resolved an unrelated warning for another part of the application, and it suddenly started to work.
