it should still fix some issue May be try the below link which might help http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/19492.sort-letters-in-a-phrase-using-t-sql.aspx
code :
/*Create sample table*/
IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb..#Text', 'U') IS NOT NULL
DROP TABLE #Test;

CREATE TABLE #Test
(
  ID INT IDENTITY(1, 1) ,
  Phrase VARCHAR(255)
);

/*Populate the table with sample data*/
INSERT  #Test
    ( Phrase )
VALUES
( 'CHICAGO' ),
( 'NEW YORK' ),
( 'HOUSTON' ),
( 'SAN FRANCISCO' );

/*This is the final solution*/;
WITH    base
      AS ( SELECT   L.[char] ,
                    T.ID ,
                    T.Phrase
           FROM     #Test T
                    CROSS APPLY ( SELECT    SUBSTRING(T.Phrase, 1 + Number, 1) [char]
                                  FROM      master..spt_values
                                  WHERE     Number < DATALENGTH(T.Phrase)
                                            AND type = 'P'
                                ) L
         )
SELECT  DISTINCT
        b1.Phrase ,
        REPLACE(( SELECT    '' + [char]
                  FROM      base b2
                  WHERE     b1.Phrase = b2.Phrase
                  ORDER BY  [char]
                    FOR
                      XML PATH('')

it should still fix some issue You can split the data into two arrays, one that starts with your input and one that doesn't. Sort each separately, then combine the two results:
code :
var data = [
    'pizzeria',
    'berpizzo',
    'apizzetto',
    'pizza'
];

function sortInputFirst(input, data) {
    var first = [];
    var others = [];
    for (var i = 0; i < data.length; i++) {
        if (data[i].indexOf(input) == 0) {
            first.push(data[i]);
        } else {
            others.push(data[i]);
        }
    }
    first.sort();
    others.sort();
    return(first.concat(others));
}

var results = sortInputFirst('piz', data);

wish of those help When there isn't a pre-built function to do something, then just make your own function for it. This is critical to programming in general.
Remember what a string is: it's an array of characters. In ActionScript 3.0, this isn't quite as true within the language's actual syntax, but you can get around it pretty easily. String.charAt() gets you the character at the given index, and you have a whole slew of operations to actually change the order or number of characters in a string.
code :
var arr:Array = nameString.split("\n");

// sort the different elements within arr here; each one is one name

nameString = arr.join("\n");

it should still fix some issue I have a string like so: , Your logic can be simplified, as sorted has a key argument:
code :
res = sorted(students.split(','), key=lambda x: x.split()[1])

['Jane Bee janebee@gmail.com 555-555-5555',
 'John Dee johndee@gmail.com 555-555-5555',
 'Sarah Zee sarahzee@gmail.com 555-555-5555']

I hope this helps . A function sort has to sort letters in string. But WITHOUT using built-in C++ sort() function! I have tried different methods but nothing helped. Here are the arguments in this function. Need to sort text. (Is it possible to this without removing & before text?) This code goes into endless loop. , After cleaning up (see comments) this seems to work just fine.
code :
#include <string>
#include <iostream>

std::string sort(const std::string &text)
{
  std::string toSort = text;

  for (int i = 0; i < (int)(toSort.size()) - 1; i++)
  {
    if (toSort.at(i) > toSort.at(i + 1))
    {
      char temp = toSort.at(i + 1);
      toSort.at(i + 1) = toSort.at(i);
      toSort.at(i) = temp;
      i = -1;
    }
  }

  std::cout << "Sorted: " << toSort << std::endl;

  return toSort;
}

int main()
{
  sort("fgfghafbkgdbGHKGHjbkgfnvnbjb14563f");
  sort("X");
  sort("");
  return(0);
}
