How to disable the scrollview in LongListSelector in windows phone 7

How to disable the scrollview in LongListSelector in windows phone 7

I hope this helps you . You can disable scroll by setting the height of LongListSelector(LLS) more than the height of all your Items. You can set a maximum height to your LLS to avoid scrolling.
Having a LLS inside a ScrollViewer is not a good practice, both the scrolls will fight for their input events and result will not be as expected.
code :
  <phone:LongListSelector>
    <phone:LongListSelector.ListHeader>
        <StackPanel>
            <StackPanel Name="Panel1"></StackPanel>
            <StackPanel Name="Panel2"></StackPanel>
        </StackPanel>
    </phone:LongListSelector.ListHeader>
  </phone:LongListSelector>

it fixes the issue I wouldn't take it for granted that the long list selector performs better than the listbox. The listbox uses a virtualizing stack panel when binding is involved and is pretty performant. I went down the road of using the list picker from the toolkit and ended up regretting it due to some bad performance problems. If it works with the listbox I'd say stick with the listbox and only move away if you find you have perfomance issues in the future.

it fixes the issue Just bind your variable to IsHitTestVisible property of the main element in your GroupItemTemplate. Just like that:
code :
<LongListSelector.GroupHeaderTemplate>
    <Border IsHitTestVisible="{Binding CategoryHasItems}">
        <TextBlock Text="{Binding CategoryTitle}"/>
    </Border>
</LongListSelector.GroupHeaderTemplate>

it should still fix some issue Replace Recent.ItemsSource = App.PictureList.Pictures.OrderBy(x => x.DateTaken) as System.Collections.IList;
by Recent.ItemsSource = App.PictureList.Pictures.OrderBy(x => x.DateTaken).ToList()

LongListSelector grouping using CollectionView in Windows Phone 7 or Windows Phone 8

With these it helps It doesn't support ICollectionView by design. The control expects that a group implements IEnumerable which CollectionViewGroup doesn't. CollectionViewGroup is the base class for all ICollectionView groups.
So you have to make a wrapper around ICollectionView to provide support for the interfaces LongListSelector expects or modify the LongListSelector source code.
