seems to work fine I usually type cat or cat > /dev/null (I have an alias for that) to see what appears when I type a key. End with Enter followed by Ctrl+D. You may also prefer cat | hd. Example with ↑:
code :
$ cat | hd
^[[A
00000000  1b 5b 41 0a                                       |.[A.|

fixed the issue. Will look into that further The id is null because you haven't specified it in your markup creation. Looks like you're assigning the id value to class instead.

Hope this helps I never did find the proper solution to this, however I did find a workaround that works well.
I created an Interceptor class NVarcharInterceptor implementing IDbCommandInterceptor, and overrode all of the ..Executing(..) methods to contain the following code:
code :
if (command != null && !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(command.CommandText))
    command.CommandText = command.CommandText.Replace("N''", "''");
this.AddInterceptor(new NVarcharInterceptor());

Hope that helps I found classmethod int.from_bytes(bytes, byteorder, *, signed=False) which does the job instead of ord(). Code:
code :
characters = ['Č', 'č', 'Š', 'š', 'Ž', 'ž']
codecs = ['cp852', 'iso8859_2', 'cp1250', 'mac_latin2', 'utf-8', 'utf_16_le', 'utf_16_be']

for letter in characters:
    for codec in codecs:
        decCodePoint = int.from_bytes(letter.encode(codec), byteorder='big') #code point integer
        print(letter + ' ' + codec + ' ' + str(decCodePoint) + ' ' + str(hex(decCodePoint)) + ' ' + str(oct(decCodePoint))) #i also convert decimal integer to hexadecimal and octal
Č cp852 172 0xac 0o254
Č iso8859_2 200 0xc8 0o310
Č cp1250 200 0xc8 0o310
Č mac_latin2 137 0x89 0o211
Č utf-8 50316 0xc48c 0o142214
Č utf_16_le 3073 0xc01 0o6001
Č utf_16_be 268 0x10c 0o414

I think the issue was by ths following , Since version 2.5.4 there is a new command line option -encoding which is not yet documented on the official documentation. But when you call the tool with the help option (-h|-help) you will see the encoding option:

around this issue My favorite site for looking up characters is fileformat.info. They have a great Unicode character search that includes a lot of useful information about each character and its various encodings.
If you see the question mark with a box, that means you pasted something that can't be interpreted, often because it's not legal UTF-8 (not every byte sequence is legal UTF-8). One possibility is that it's UTF-16 with an endian mode that your editor isn't expecting. If you can get the full original source into a file, the file command is often the best tool for determining the encoding.
