I hope this helps . The issue is with publicDatabase it'll be nil because probably you didn't initialized it.
In the code provided there is no relevant code with publicDatabase initialization. So verify that you initialized it before using.

Android, onWindowFocusChanged method makes app crash

Android, onWindowFocusChanged method makes app crash

seems to work fine Your onWindowFocusChanged calls Thread.start() several times for the same thread which is incorrect. You may want to use a variable like isStarted to guarantee that Thread.start() is called only once. Or start a new thread each time. That depends on your program's logic.
Swift CloudKit SaveRecord "Error saving record"

Swift CloudKit SaveRecord "Error saving record"

To fix the issue you can do A record can be saved to iCloud using CKDatabase's convenience method saveRecord: or via a CKModifyRecordsOperation. If it's a single record, you can use saveRecord: but will need to fetch the record you'd like to modify using fetchRecordWithID: prior to saving it back to iCloud. Otherwise, it will only let you save a record with a new RecordID. More here.
code :
database.fetchRecordWithID(recordId, completionHandler: { record, error in
    if let fetchError = error {
            println("An error occurred in \(fetchError)")
        } else {
            // Modify the record
            record.setObject(newName, forKey: "name")
        }
}

database.saveRecord(aRecord, completionHandler: { record, error in
    if let saveError = error {
            println("An error occurred in \(saveError)")
        } else {
            // Saved record
        }
}
var ops:CKModifyRecordsOperation = CKModifyRecordsOperation()
ops.savePolicy = CKRecordSavePolicy.IfServerRecordUnchanged
database.addOperation(ops)
let saveRecordsOperation = CKModifyRecordsOperation()

var ckRecordsArray = [CKRecord]()
// set values to ckRecordsArray

saveRecordsOperation.recordsToSave = ckRecordsArray
saveRecordsOperation.savePolicy = .IfServerRecordUnchanged
saveRecordsOperation.perRecordCompletionBlock { record, error in
    // deal with conflicts
    // set completionHandler of wrapper operation if it's the case
}

saveRecordsOperation.modifyRecordsCompletionBlock { savedRecords, deletedRecordIDs, error in
    // deal with conflicts
    // set completionHandler of wrapper operation if it's the case
}

database.addOperation(saveRecordsOperation)

Returning MatrixCursor in ContentProvider query method makes Android TV global search crash

This might help you I found the problem. I thought that only SearchManager.SUGGEST_COLUMN_TEXT_1, SearchManager.SUGGEST_COLUMN_CONTENT_TYPE and SearchManager.SUGGEST_COLUMN_PRODUCTION_YEAR fields were required (that's what Android developers TV guide says), but SearchManager.SUGGEST_COLUMN_RESULT_CARD_IMAGE is also required. Without the card image the global search crashes, probably because tries to set a null bitmap.

I wish did fix the issue. You have a copy and paste problem. You are fetching from the public database but you are trying to save to the private database.
Change this:
code :
CKContainer.defaultContainer().privateCloudDatabase.saveRecord(myRecord!) { [unowned self] (record, error) -> Void in
CKContainer.defaultContainer().publicCloudDatabase.saveRecord(myRecord!) { [unowned self] (record, error) -> Void in

seems to work fine It seems a compiler error and your compiler can not link your method name "LaunchMap" from XML file to mainActivity. I suggest you to change the method name, save project, use new name in XML file and Run your project again. On the other hand you can use onClickListener programmatically like this:
code :
location.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
        @Override
        public void onClick(View v) {
            LunchMap();
        }
    });
