To fix this issue Unfortunately, no. Bitcask handles expiry at the backend level, not the bucket level. When Riak starts, each Bitcask backend reads the current expiry_secs from the application environment and stores it in its internal state. While you can change the setting using the set_env function, the backends would not recognize that until something caused them to restart.

it should still fix some issue Since you've already got Riak up and running, you just need to get search going:
First make sure you have search enabled in your app.config file on every node in your cluster:
code :
{riak_search, [
               {enabled, true}
              ]},
# search-cmd install testbucket
 :: Installing Riak Search <--> KV hook on bucket 'testbucket'.
curl localhost:8098/buckets/testbucket/keys/1 -H "content-type: application/json" -XPUT \
 -d '{"firstName":"Tom", "color":"red"}'
curl localhost:8098/buckets/testbucket/keys/2 -H "content-type: application/json" -XPUT \
 -d '{"firstName":"Dick", "color":"green"}'
curl localhost:8098/buckets/testbucket/keys/3 -H "content-type: application/json" -XPUT \
 -d '{"firstName":"Harry", "color":"blue"}'
# curl http://localhost:8098/solr/testbucket/select\?q=firstName:Harry
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<response>

To fix the issue you can do I have successfully gotten a connection between my riak database and localhost by using the official Basho riak-php-client: , Try...
code :
 $obj = json_decode($fetched4);

it should still fix some issue Since you are using several dev nodes the config files will be under the dev directory, such as dev/dev1/etc/riak.conf. You'll need to check there to see which ports are being used for the protocol buffers listener for each node.. The configuration under the rel directory is only suitable for running a single node on the machine.

hope this fix your issue I have figured it out, I was going off of 1.4 documentation and instead I needed to do riak_kv_crdt:new(Bucket, Id, riak_dt_map)
