wish of those help if you run ps inside the container as follows you will see the container you have linked runs haproxy as pid 1 which cannot be killed without killing the container and also it is run in foreground so without a pid file. If you want to reload run haproxy in the background in your container and make some other process such as supervisor the primary process.
code :
docker exec -it haproxy ps aux
USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
haproxy 1 0.0 0.2 28988 4576 ? Ss 02:41 0:00 haproxy -f /etc/haproxy/haproxy.cfg -p /var/run/haproxy.pid

HAProxy reload issue in cygwin

HAProxy reload issue in cygwin

it fixes the issue HAProxy generally does not support Windows, even under Cygwin. HAProxy contains very specific optimisations for Linux and a variety of UNIX systems which make it very hard to be able to run it on Windows.
And even if you would somehow make it run, it would result in abysmal performance and would never get a stable or even moderately fast system. It just doesn't make any sense to run HAProxy on Windows and trying to deal with various emulation layers when you get great performance even out of a sub-1-Watt ARM box running on Linux.

I hope this helps . I am deploying my application in a Docker container with processes managed by Supervisor. I have a Haproxy running in the container that is being reloaded (via sudo haproxy reload) when there's a change in the list of servers in my Zookeeper. The problem is that Supervisor restarts the process with an old config right away, thus not taking changes into effect. , This has been solved by the following command sequence:
code :
iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 3213 --syn -j DROP
sleep 1
supervisorctl -u login -p pass restart haproxy:*
iptables -D INPUT -p tcp --dport 3213 --syn -j DROP

like below fixes the issue Does your user/haproxy inherit from the haproxy container in the main docker repo? If so the command haproxy should be in the PATH and it includes a -f flag for running it in the foreground.
I usually specify the config file too, so my CMD looks like:
code :
haproxy -d -f /usr/local/etc/haproxy/haproxy.cfg

This might help you We found the issue, it's because of DNS, Haproxy is taking much time for resolving the URLS, we added the /etc/hosts file for local cache DNS..
Now it's taking 30ms for a reload.
