fixed the issue. Will look into that further You want to output the name values for where owner is the current user, if I understand you correctly:
code :
[query whereKey:@"owner" equalTo:[PFUser currentUser]];

Share : facebook icon twitter icon

This might help you I THINK the first should work. But if not, you can combine the two queries in your last suggestion in one query. So instead of first getting the friendship objects and then fire off a new query, you use matchesQuery in your second query and put in the first.
Your second suggestion alone will not work, as the findObjectsInBackgroundWithBlock will be performed in the background and self.followingArray will not be populated when the second query triggers.
code :
PFRelation *relation = [[PFUser currentUser] relationForKey:@"friendship"];
PFQuery *relationQuery = [relation query];

PFQuery *query = [PFQuery queryWithClassName:TV_TIMELINE_POSTS];
[query includeKey:@"user"];
[query whereKey:@"user" matchesQuery:relationQuery];
[query findObjectsInBackgroundWithBlock:^(NSArray *objects, NSError *error) {
    [self.objectArray addObjectsFromArray:objects];
    [self.collectionView performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(reloadData) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO];
    [self.refreshControl performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(endRefreshing) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO];
     _isLoading = NO;
}];

I wish this help you As per the documentation on Queries on Array Values, if you want to find rows where a value exists in an array:
code :
[query whereKey:@"favorites" equalTo:@"pizza"];
Make PFQuery only contain objects with specific value

I think the issue was by ths following , You could use a different query formatting call. By this I mean instead of using:
code :
[query whereKey:@"gender" containsString:@"male"];
[query whereKey:@"gender" equalTo:@"male"];

like below fixes the issue NSOperation is one option. ReativeCocoa is another option that could help you solve this problem quite easily if you know how to use it.
However the easiest way (and hackiest) would prob be to keep some state of the search and use it to only apply the most recent searches results.
code :
var mostRecentSearchQuery: String = ""

@IBAction func textFieldChanged (sender: AnyObject) {
var queryString: String?
if let textField: UITextField = sender as? UITextField {
    queryString = textField.text
    self.mostRecentSearchQuery = textField.text
}
let query = PFUser.Query()
query!.whereKey("Postcode", containsString: searchField.text)
query?.findObjectsInBackgroundWithBlock({[weak self] (objects, error) -> Void in
   if let objects = objects where queryString == self?.mostRecentSearchQuery {
      for object in objects {
         self.citiesArray.append(object["city"] as! String)
      }
   }
})

hope this fix your issue If the line print(postGrabber.count) is called multiple times, the problem doesn't come from the query but from something higher in your code. If you don't find it copy paste your code here.
