I hope this helps you . LOCK IN SHARE MODE will allow the 2nd thread to read the value, but the actual value will be the one before the query (read commited) or before the transaction (repeatable read) has been started (as MySQL uses multi-versioning; and what have to be seen by the second transaction is defined by the isolation level). So if the 1st transaction is not commited at the time of the read, the old value will be read.
In your scenario best to have 1 transaction that locks the record with select for update, another than works on the record and on commit/rollback third one unlocks the record.
code :
connection.setautocommit(false);
//transaction-1
PreparedStatement ps1 = "Select locked from tableName for update where id="key" and   locked=false);
ps1.executeQuery();

//transaction 2
PreparedStatement ps2 = "Update tableName set locked=true where id="key";
ps2.executeUpdate();
connection.setautocommit(true); // here we allow other transactions / threads to see the new value

connection.setautocommit(false);
//transaction 3
PreparedStatement ps3 = "Update tableName set aField="Sthg" where id="key" And date="D" and topic="T";
ps3.executeUpdate();

// probably more queries

// reset locked to false
 PreparedStatement ps4 = "Update tableName set locked=false where id="key";
ps4.executeUpdate();

//commit
connection.setautocommit(true);

Hope that helps If you want a field that always holds the last actual update (in terms of a content editor), you should add it yourself and fill it automatically (like on the item save event). The __Updated fields on the Sitecore statistics will be changed whenever the actual item is changed -cannot change this with a simple config- and that can be for several reasons (e.g. also when you would sort items as that can change the value of the standard sort field).
There is probably a way to customize this with code, but it will be a lot easier and less error prone when you create your own field and keep the data there..

This might help you You can always use the $('.box').on('click', function(e) { method... that could make it, but keep in mind you would have to add an other on click or doubleclick to disable, also, it's quite a weird behaviour
Sample explanation of what I mean
code :
// Implement drag and drop for the image
$('.box').on('click', function(e) {
  var $this = $(this),
      $window = $(window),
      mouseX = e.pageX,
      mouseY = e.pageY,
      width = $this.outerWidth(),
      height = $this.outerHeight()
      elemX = $this.offset().left + width - mouseX,
      elemY = $this.offset().top + height - mouseY;

  e.preventDefault();
  $window.on('mousemove.drag', function(e2) {
      $this.offset({
          left: e2.pageX + elemX - width,
          top: e2.pageY + elemY - height
      });
  }).one('mousedown', function() {
      $window.off('mousemove.drag');
  });
});
// Implement drag and drop for the image
$('.box').on('mousedown', function(e) {
  var $this = $(this),
      $window = $(window),
      mouseX = e.pageX,
      mouseY = e.pageY,
      width = $this.outerWidth(),
      height = $this.outerHeight()
      elemX = $this.offset().left + width - mouseX,
      elemY = $this.offset().top + height - mouseY;

  e.preventDefault();
  $window.on('mousemove.drag', function(e2) {
      $this.offset({
          left: e2.pageX + elemX - width,
          top: e2.pageY + elemY - height
      });
  }).one('click', function() {
      $window.off('mousemove.drag');
  });
});

Does that help Can you console.log(params)?
I suspect that updated is a reserved word. It is a safe practice to use ExpressionAttributeNames in your params.
code :
const params = {
  TableName: this.table,
  Key: { id },
  UpdateExpression: `set #a = :status, #b = :updated, #c = :authTransacId, #d = :avsResponse, #e = :authCode`,
  ExpressionAttributeValues: {
    ':status': data.status,
    ':updated': moment().utcOffset(-4).format(),
    ':authTransacId': data.transId,
    ':avsResponse': data.avsResponse,
    ':authCode': data.authCode
  },
  ExpressionAttributeNames: {
    '#a': 'tranStatus',
    '#b': 'updated',
    '#c': 'authTransacId',
    '#d': 'avsResponse',
    '#e': 'authCode',
  },
  ReturnValues: "UPDATED_NEW"
}

I wish this helpful for you Neither of mouseup or mousedown prevent the default click event.
